Is this thing real? Or is it a joke? I've downloaded it, but I cannot try it yet (I'am at a friend's house).

    Its the real deal - I've tried it and it works a treat! :)

    I would assume this works, as Simon Owen is the current maintainer of Sim Coupe, the only decent Windows Sam Coupe emulator, and thusly knows his stuff :)

    Just tried it out this afternoon. Very simple to use, and works perfectly!

    A big THANK-YOU to Simon Owen for creating it.

    It really needs to be added into future versions of the emulators

    Possible??

    Just tried this on Elite and it worked a treat. Top stuff! And I agree, it would be a very nice addition to an emulator. In fact, I remember suggesting that very feature in a thread about emulator wish-lists a while ago.

    True enough, you can usually find a hacked snapshot which bypasses the Lenslok code -- when it's at the beginning of a game. However the games in which Lenslok pops up half-way through could do with something like this. Plus it's nice to play from the perfect TZX whenever possible.

    The only one I'm aware of is the Rainbird edition of Jewels of Darkness, but there may be others...?

    I think Price of Magic by Level 9 is another

    The OCP Art Studio also had it. Very annoying!

    Maybe I have not correctly understood how to use it, but it doesn't work on my PC. I select a title from the menu, click on the window, the cross-shaped pointer appears, but when I try to drag it, either nothing appears, or only an unintelligible jumble of reddish-brown blocks! Can someone please explain me how to use it properly? Or maybe there's some setting/hardware conflict that prevents it from working?

    Try the tutorial in the link below - you need to drag a box over the right-hand part of the lenslok code displayed on the emulator window.

    Tutorial here ...

    Thanks, but I had already read the tutorial before downloading the program and I can't get anything out of it anyway. When I select a title from the menu and click on the main window, only the cross-shaped cursor appears - nothing else. No pattern is ever shown inside the window, even if I start dragging the cursor from the top left to the bottom right as stated in the tutorial.

    I agee, this would be great as a feature in an emulator. I'm a big fan of using tzx files, so finally I'd be able to play the original Tomahawk again... :)

    Alessandro:

    If you select carefully, you should be able to use the sample image in the box marked 3) on the Lenskey page to test out the program.

    Make sure you have Art Studio selected in the drop down list, then click on the blank area in the Lenskey window to get the cross-hair. Now drag out to select the red dotted box in image 3) as accurately as you can.

    As you are dragging you should get strange blocks appearing in the Lenkey window, and it's only when you're close to selecting the full box that OK should become visible.

    If you're still struggling I'll create a larger test image to try - I'm not aware of any problems with it (it even runs under WINE in Linux!) :)

    Thanks for your help, but I have already received a message from Bad Beard that made me understand I had to drag the cursor on an emulator's window and not on LensKey's own window. This is very important, but it is not clearly stated on the help page. Or maybe it's that
    a) English is not my mother language;
    b) normally I use DOS-based emulators, so the concept of "emulator's window" took a little time for me to grasp;
    c) I'm just thick...
    Anyway I followed Bad Beard's advice and successfully managed to get past the protections of Elite, Tomahawk and TT Racer

    You're right, the webpage does not state you need to drag the cursor on the emulator window! Hmmm, now I see why you had trouble.

    I've now added a mention of the emulator window to the instructions - thanks!

    Well guys, in the new release 0.4 of EmuZWin 2.4 Vladimir added some Lenslok support (provided that you have the .exe file in the directory) under the tool menu. I didn't try it yet but I am sure it works fine just like everything else....
    Seems like this feller is leaving everybody beyound with all those supersonic releases coming up within just a few hours in between.....
    ( I think he just sits there and leaves his little child do all the programming for him :) )
