I have used a fair few torrents in the past, mp3 sites etc etc but no way on earth would i want to host one of these and run a site myself !!

I read on torrentspy.com about the amount of money theyve had to pay in court etc, what benefits do they get (surely they didnt get a ton of advertising money) from torrentspy apart from all the hungry downloaders loving their site for free ?

You'd have to be a fool to set one of these up in the States and think you'd be able to get away with it.

    - U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie Cooper awarded the Motion Picture
    - Association of America maximum damages of $30,000 per movie, for each of
    - the 3,699 infringement charges brought against TorrentSpy. All totaled, site
    - operator Justin Bunnell and company are obliged to pay the MPAA
    - $110,970,000.

How come they are just being done for 3,699 movies? I think I got more movies than that from there :D

Great that demonoid is back up, tbh I never used TorrentSpy that much once I knew what was going on in the courts, demonoid always has the more rare films that you can't easily get elsewhere. Yay to demonoid ;)
