Best covertape?

The Crash tape with Rockfall was my all-time favourite. Indeed I still play it occasionally on my genuine Spectrum 48K computer (I am not a fan of emulations as so many of them are not as good as the original games). It was the April 1990 cover tape for those who are interested.

What about 'Dustin'? That was given away free with YS back in '88. I loved that game, quite an unusual game, unfortunately i loaned it to someone at school who never gave it back! (sob!).
Tried it on the emulator years later though, still couldn't complete it. This is another game that wasn't released properly.
'Famous five on treasure island' was also given away with YS. I liked this adventure, had a lot of features for its time.
Remember the YS 4 pack tapes, the it was expanded to the magnificent seven, they went downhill when they done that. Filling the tapes with games from CRL and the like that no one had heard of.

7 (technically 8 since one was a double whammy) YS covertapes all got played to death by me, Batty, Play for your life, People from Sirius, Dustin, Blind Panic, the one that had Moley Christmas on it, and the double tape that had wonderboy, the skate or die demo, and a load of hidden text adventures (and maybe not the ones in the mag itself? I know there was a thread a while ago and a lot of people got different things on these tapes?).

Maybe now that I think back YS covertapes secretly were the best, some of the SU and Crash ones had some pretty sweet games like Phantom Club, Egghead, Armarote, Hyperactive (see that Joffa, I liked it :D), and (ready for backlash over this one) Hyperlane.

But now I think back YS definitely favoured quality over quantity.
    Every night is curry night!

I've already spread some love for Hyperactive, don't go agreeing with me or Joffa might actually start thinking he's got a fanbase ;)

What amazes me is that Dizzy was given away free by not one but two different mags (YS, and then Crash), and that's not even counting the Dizzy 'Special Editions' that Crash had, and yet Codemasters still deny distribution of it on websites like this.....the mean spirited buggers.
