Which games drew you in to the extent that you actually wanted to take a wander inside the environment?

Take Trashman; didn't you just want to take a stroll up those lovely streets or sit in that pub as the cars hissed by your window? Or explore the furthest corners of Mercenary?

Even Antescher - ants notwithstanding, I'd loved to have explored the city on foot.

    I wanted to be in JSW so I could climb up the off license and exit via the right or top of it. I've since fulfilled my fantasy to a certain extent by adding rooms to the right and top of the off license in my JSW remakes.

    Wow, it would be great is someone with a lot of money could make a life size version on Anchester to walk / climb around.

    The nearest we could get to in reality would be a Quake / UT map probably.

    Yes, why was it it was the Off Licence of all screens that you wanted to know "what was past it?". I think it may be because when playing JSW for the first time, you managed to explore further and further to the right as days/weeks went on, eventually ending at the Off License.

    I've often wondered that no-one's done that yet. There is a PC remake though which has a First-person mode.

    I don't like all those evil worlds where merely touching a creature will kill you. Good thing it's not like that in the real world, except maybe for some poisonous frogs in the rain forest.

    On topic, I was very fascinated by the text adventure game Valkyrie 17, and remember that I wanted to be that agent trying to escape from the hotel and find some secret weapon.. :)

    Yep Elite 100%. Just be so cool in your spaceship, either trading, going looking for pirates or being suicidal and shooting at the space station to see how long you could survive with tons of police ships after ya

    Elite, Prayer of the Warrior, or Dragonia.

    Elite, because it's the closest that you can get on the Spectrum to an actual world(even though it's a port).

    Prayer of the Warrior, because of the weird scenery and detail.

    Dragonia, because it just looks like a neat place to wander around in.

    Maybe Quest for the Golden Eggcup, I was fascinated by the world in that game and the characters who lived in it.

    I have to admit I was confused by a later comment in the thread where someone said Anchester (as opposed to Antescher) ... so I was off in the woods somewhere without a clue nor a spoon to dig with.

    The only thing about being in Knight Lore, that once you escape that game you end up in Sabrewulf or Underworlde and you will never find your way home as you end up in Mire Mare and be lost for ever!
