that could be right so long as he's not playing Bombjack or Jet Set Willy

This suggests an amusing mental sequence.

I think Dansolo and buddies don't get the fact that no one is having a serious argument with him and just pulling his chain.....typical of a c64 user.

    Dan,
Try looking at the prices paid for Commodore vs Spectrum hardware on completed ebay listings for the UK.

You'll be in for a suprise.

Commodore aint selling well, many items not selling or they are grtting a poor price.

In costrast the ZX Spectrum still seems to be going strong.

I think in the UK Spectrum's and their accessories are considderably more in demand than the Commodore.

And of course overseas Commodore is going to outstip sales on Spectrum stuff, the USA and Canada a big markets for Ebay, the Commodore was much more prolific in the USA as Timex Botched the US and Canada sales side of things. This wil be big enough skew the global sales figures to the point where they do not paint a true picture of Global platform addoption.

So there are more people wanting rid of their commodore stuff than there are people wanting to give up their precious Speccy. What was your point again?
What I showed was more people SELLING Sinclair than Commodore in England, the most concentrated Sinclair area on earth. What was your point?

The old "if we tried we'd beat you" line. Get over yourself. I'm not finding this difficult.

So they're not getting the same price. There's still somebody buying them, and usually for bigger postage costs too. (one downside of Commodore collecting. You should see the P+P on a PET).

They both have their markets. I'll grant you the ZX prices are higher per item, but there's much less of them to go around if you're buying globally, as most Commodore buyers can do.

You should read about some of the marketing nightmares they came up with at Commodore HQ, including the afforementioned C16. Every company had it's mistakes back then, hence a lot of them are no longer with us. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here? Because Sinclair didn't sell well in the US there's a poor Sinclair representation globally? And?

Damn, you didn't sleep much last night did you.

You know one day you'll have sex and none of this will matter anymore!

EDIT: Oh that was juvenile of me...Dan..take a breath...if you look around the forum at other posts you will see the 'culture' that is WOS is laid back and generally non combative.

FYI, I own more C64 stuff than speccy stuff....it's just fun to poke at prod at people who get worked up about unimportant things.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! All of my recent absences from my net nerdy stuff has been due to sex. So I can vouch for it makes everything meaningless....until it's over then after you've wiped yourself down.......

The quotes I've put in and responded to are from the last few hours, so if I was up all night it wasn't writing a reply. If you open your eyes at least you might see what you're walking into.
Next you'll tell me I took hours to type this post.

What will make the sex I have that day different from every other? And this doesn't matter a hill of beanz to me anyway. Like I said, it's not exactly taxing.

Ahhh, that sex  alcohol, cheap street slapper picked up, slippers off, avoiding work, spectrum hidden under bed (oops, forget that last one).

it will be with a real life woman, rather than over a shitty C64 computer.

The thing that will make it different is it will involve someone else!

Don't care what time it is where you are, I still couldn't have written my earlier response before those posts. We know what time zones are. Trying to justify yourself while simultaneously appealing to my sense of humour is pathetic, not humorous.

What make me smile is that this guy (I assume) comes into the forum criticising the Spectrum's hardware which he knows nothing about with info he got off wikipedia.

With a starting point like that it's game over even before it's begun...

I found it amusing when I realised this is the first Usenet-style flamewar I've seen since stopping reading Usenet several months ago. DanSolo is the first obnoxious fanboy flamer I've seen in a *long* time.

I was like that 10/15 years ago. I pray for his sake that he's acting up rather than genuinely being like this.

Poor Dan, I'm afraid there is no hope for you. I'm not trying to justify myself, I'm trying to calm your little head down.

Technically my first point was correct....about the not much sleep thing.....apparently it took you all night and all morning to come up with a response which even then lacked 'thump'.

As for the punchline...it was a perfect setup which apparently your .0.985 MHz brain took longer to process and realize than the average Speccy 3.5mhz brain could.

No I'm saying the complete opposite. Sinclair did have a good reputation globaly except in their biggest potential markets US and Canada.

Therefore this will be enough to skew the global sales when looking at ebay.

It's not rocket science, you claim to be smart, but a claim is all it is.
