Nah I have more but can't be bothered...I know where to draw the line (most times). I don't want to get into a shouting match over stuff I really don't care that much about...and its home time!
Ok, have a great Bank Holiday weekend!
<If it's a holiday weekend over there. If not, anyway, have a good 'un!>
Sorry to keep banging on about it, but no. This thread might seems to be about talking as much shit as possible to avoid the issue, but the the title is "Spectrum more loved than C64".
A theory which I have proven as either idiotically misguided or scurrilously misleading.
Does that mean your getting your coat and going home now then....cheerio...come again soon!
Atheists don't have to swear on the bible in court.
This is a point of fact in UK courts.
You should however be aware that the Judge and Jury will give less credibility to the testimony of individuals who do not swear on the Bible, Qur'an etc.

No, ye've been doing fuck all actually. I have to admit it's a rather unusual thread, where after a few early sensational claims just about everybody on one side of the argument just basically talks shit.
I'm OK with assuming I've won then.
In fact, someone call me a troll again and I'll be 100% sure.
(embarrassing typo edit. I do have a certain quality control)
OK, since it appears that everyone has such a "narrow-minded" view of Christians here, I'll defend myself by showing what I believe, and how it isn't nutty or anything.
First of all, I must make one thing clear - the rules in the Bible are meant to be followed by EVERYBODY, but CHRISTIANS don't have the authority to force people to accept them, in the same way that the Muslims don't go around enforcing Shari'a law in England(they get enough help from the Archbishop!). Surprising, I know. So I don't go around here telling everybody to stop swearing or making lewd jokes, because they aren't Christians. It would be stupid to.
However, that doesn't mean that I don't think that those things are wrong. You'll notice that I haven't sworn or told lewd jokes. That's because I believe that such things are wrong.
A few have said that the rules followed by Christians are archaic, unnecessary, and intolerant of others. Let's see what they are:
1. Christians should worship God.
2. Christians should worship God and no other god or gods.
3. Christians should not swear.
4. Christians should go to church.
5. Christians should respect their parents.
6. Christians should not murder.
7. Christians should not cheat on their spouses.
8. Christians should not steal.
9. Christians should not lie.
10. Christians should not covet others' property.
Ooh, those intolerant, uptight Christians can't do any of that? How restrictive!
On the issue of homosexuality:
There is no reason why Christians shouldn't think that homosexuality is wrong. Christians (quite obviously)believe in God. Christians also believe that God made people to his own design. Christians also believe that God gave people reproductive organs so that they can, uhh, reproduce(and have fun doing it). The penis is meant for the vagina, and vice versa. Homosexuality, therefore, is a perversion of God's design. I really don't see how homosexuality can't be wrong.
On the issue of Old Testament restrictions and laws:
Of course, the Ten Commandments aren't the only laws in the Old Testament. There are strange and arcane laws reserved for the priests, laws regarding the disposal of waste, and laws regarding the "cleanness" of various objects. Yet, for some reason, (most, if not all)Christians today don't follow them. Why? Jesus said that they were inapplicable after his salvation of the human race. Only the most basic, fundamental laws like the Ten Commandments were kept. Jesus added to these, too, but in different ways. Why were the old laws so restrictive? I really don't know - some people say that it was to set the Hebrews apart from the other peoples, some say that they were to protect the Hebrews from hazards that we no longer face(for example, the law against eating pork makes a lot of sense when you realize that pigs were dirtier inside and out back then, and the eating thereof could lead to food poisoning). I don't really care - what matters is that Jesus came "not to abolish the law, but to fulfill it"(I don't have the source for that, I'm just quoting what I've read in the Bible). So it seems that Christians don't have an extremely restrictive set of rules, either.
On the issue of holy wars:
In the Old Testament, the reason for the Hebrew wars was pretty simple - the Hebrews hadn't been in Canaan before, and they naturally met opposition in their new home - God protected them when they trusted him to. Yes, quite simple.
The much-maligned Crusades, however, were different. This is how they started:
The Byzantine Empire(which was nationally Christian) had several outposts in the Middle East. A few Arabs captured them. Pope Urban II sent his army to reclaim them.
Then, as the Crusades progressed, it grew farther from its beginnings as a simple geopolitical reconquest, and closer to a war between Christians and Heathens, Muslims and Infidels, faith against faith. The most chivalrously-fought war in history was the third Crusade, actually - Richard the Lionheart and Sulayman the Great disagreed over who owned the territory, and they fought with great respect for each other - Richard the Lionheart even visited Sulayman's tent with gifts while Sulayman was ill. After that, though, the Crusades degenerated into the bloody religious war that is most often mentioned today.
On the subject of overt Christianity:
I am not a "GOD HATES FAGS!" Christian. I do not wear a bracelet, have a WWJD bumper sticker(I do have a small fish on my car, though), or email people madly when some trivial ruling is passed in a court. That is obnoxious and wrong, and it gives Christians a bad name. I'll quote Peter Leithart on this:
My complaint is not that Christians have retreated from "politics", as defined by society", and my solution is not that Christians should get off their duffs and become political activists. That would simply perpetuate Christianity[Leithart's word for a degenerate modern Church]. Christian political activism is as worldly as Christian political quietism, since both are based on the (false and heretical)assumption that being in the Church is not already political activism. Both assume that to be political we need to do more than preach and live the Gospel.
My complaint is more fundamental: we have accepted our opponents' account of who we are and no longer see that the Gospel is an inherently "political" announcement, nor that the Church is an inherently "political" community.
That pretty much sums up what I think. I can be Christian without being obnoxious about it.
And I'm pretty sure that God hasn't fried anybody with lightning bolts because that's a pretty ineffective way to make them Christians.
Do you you really want to go through this again? Do you have a mental block or something?
Here's how it went last time:
I gave evidence of lot of C64 retroscene activity.
You didn't. Then you started to talk shit as a diversion.

Taking something positive away from this, we now have a thread to point to when we want to illustrate just why it's advisable to lurk in a forum for a couple of weeks before posting to it. Dannyboy here completely misjudged the character of the forum and the people who post here, and it was fun for a while watching him mentally go "WTF? I'm trying to argue something truly important here!"
Whoever maintains the WOS (folklore?) FAQ should add a bit about that, plus maybe a link on the registration page.
It's a pity this isn't a video medium. "Enraged C64 Fanboy" could have had cult status on YouTube.

Aaaarrrrgghhh! I've just spent the last 2 hours and 20 minutes reading this thread, just to get up to speed with everything that's been happening. I don't have any opinion about it apart from believing that it's the biggest waste of time (and server space) I've ever seen. It should be locked, sanitized and deleted immediately.

British Isles? I think that includes ?ire.
United Kingdom?
Northern Ireland? That's pretty close.

Sorry Foggy, I've hardly read any of this thread so I don't know the context of your quote and I'm not going to look for it in such a rubbish thread :-P
I've just skipped to the end so this might have already been mentioned...

Fuckin' 'ell, it's Gerardus Mercator. You're some guesser you know, because it's true! Britain IS closer to Ireland than a lot of other places are.
Asia is big by the way. Just thought I'd let you know that. Interesting, huh?

As I said in my previous post to you, I do not doubt your passion and sincerity but my earlier point remains, you (or anyone for that matter) should never be allowed to promote that homosexuality is bad without some sort of censure, simply because opining these views in public, as you are doing, could cause people with no say over their sexuality emotional suffering. The fact that you believe this by virtue of your faith is of little consequence. You have a right to the opinion, but you should not have a right to say it out loud. It should remain "in the closet", as it were :)
I'm sure you're a good enough lad/ladette(?) at heart, and will understand my concerns. And I promise not to bang on about this anymore. This'll be the last of my banging.

As it is, I've yet to meet the christian who follows any rules. It's very simple what your Jesus taught..its giving everything you have to help the meek...you car..sold..your house..sold...help the meek...failure to do this consigns you to your christian hell.
