Wanted floppy lead for +3

I want a lead to connect a 1.44 Mb floppy to a ZX Spectrum +3 (via the floppy connector in the back of the Speccy).

NOTE: When I say 1.44 Mb I mean I would need a lead with RDY and density signals "hacked" to enable any HD floppy to work.

Have a look at this: http://www.secarica.ro/html/plus3_hardware.html#3and5inchdrive

You may find a way to make such a cable there.
    No guarantees, tho.

I think he and I are in the same situation. I don't have the time, nor knowledge, nor talent to build these things. I prefer to buy something ready to use.

So am I. I'd buy such cables if anyone would build (and sell) them.

DEATH made my cable for me years ago. Sadly I don't think he's active at the moment.

I found someone on eBay who offered to build custom adapters on request. I'm going to ask him if he can build cables as well.

Not all 3.5'' drives can be used. I bought a whole in one solution here

I'm sure they post abroad if someone is interrested.

Thanks, but I don't know if they are trustworthy... They say that the drive will work in +2A/B, but (as far as I know), early +2A were +3 boards without the floppy disk controller, and later +2A and all +2B had a redesigned board that had not connections to solder the missing FDC.

So saying that the drive will work in a +2A/B is somewhat strange.

If you want more info on that Greek site, you could try PMing Anestis here in WOS.

Today I received a cable that allows me to connect kempston joysticks to IF2 or Sinclair joystick ports. If you're still looking for the cable, try asking if he could build it for you.
