Woolworths "Worth It!" chocs

edited June 2008 in Chit chat
I've sampled two boxes, the ordinary ones and the liqueur ones. Both were ?1, both were revolting -- indeed, the liqueurs give "arse liqueur" a whole new meaning. :(

Since they're prominently labelled "Worth It!" when they're plainly not, does any purchaser have a case against Kingfisher PLC under the Trades Descriptions Act? :)

Yeh you think a combination of 'Woolworths' and '£1' might have been enough to sound alarm bells.

I hate Woolworths and don't get me started on JML products that they sell....

Co=op own brand Real Ale, is nicer than a lot of other beers.

I'd love to know who really makes it.

The brewer is called Freeminer, a microbrewery in Forest of Dean
The growth of the range bears testimony to Freeminer?s brewing expertise in creating beers that deliver style, substance and taste.

They usually have scoops, unless you go to that Food Weighouse, jeez that place is vile, they have barrels of cornflakes that have gone soft from the air and a load of other stuff just sitting uncovered with flies buzzing all over it in summer. You see all these rank charvas and old penny pinching women picking it up and stuff with their bare hands, even though there's big signs saying please use the scoops.

Dirty tramps the lot of em', and they should close all the food weighouses down they're bloody disgusting

Oy, PoundLand do do some decent stuff such as mini 4-port USB hubs (I have a few of those) and Star Trek? DVDs which once sold for ?7.99, although of course they also sell tat such as those hole punches which can't possibly work properly as there's no paper guide, making it impossible to align the paper properly (why do people waste their money on those, when good ones cost as little as ?2?). It's just a matter of using the sense you were born with.

You should have learned much earlier to never buy own-brand chocolates, especially at the cheaper store chains.

I made the same mistake a couple of Xmasses ago with Asda chocs, again ?1/box.

    Ugh.

Tesco chocs can be quite nice, but generally get branded chocs if you want a reasonable chance of getting some good ones.

    And stay away from Cadburys.

Should that not be "..if you want a reasonable chance of getting laid."

If you're thinking in that direction, stay away from supermarkets. Bare minimum is a box of Thorntons.

Yeah they have gone way downhill in the last 10 years, and seemingly continue to do so.

Have you noticed the only cadbury Choc that is still really good is the easter eggs, only problem with that is when you break them up there isn't really that much chocolate. So you have to buy about 137 to satisfy your cravings, then they're gone, and there's no more, but you want more, MORE, MORE!

Reminds me of another Poundland bargain:

    Stick-up 3-LED spotlights.

JML (Woolworths): 3 for ?7.99, case colour: black.
Poundland: 2 for ?1, case colours: red or blue (both in one pack are same colour).

Spot the difference, and guess which I bought. :D

You went to Poundland and got 16 of them for the same price as 3 at the other place.

Yeh, it's much more fun to go down to Booker or Makro and buy a whole tub of strawberry laces for a tenner then make yourself sick numerous times over the course of a month :)
