lego indy

edited June 2008 in Chit chat
anyone got this?

i got it the other day for my DS. i'm a bit dissapointed with it. it doesn't have the same feel as the star wars games in relation to their respective movies.

its too similar too what with the same music being used in parts. i just don't think there are enough characters in the indy world to make it a worth while game, and cos they are all human and most with out hats they look very samey. its not like you get all the different storm troopers for example.

ive only got the cut down DS version, but there really isnt a lot of levels. i know there was only three films, but they could have expanded on them. although im starting to think they will do what they did with star wars, and bring out a sequel with 'kingdom of crystal skull' and 'the young indy' stuff made into more levels

i think they should have made it into more of an RPG that a puzzle game. its got the lucasarts humour in there just not enough of it in the game play.

Got the 360 version this morning but haven't had chance to play it yet. Kinda suspected it might not work as well as the Star Wars ones but hopefully it'll still be a bit entertaining. Need something to tide me over till Impossible Mission DS ships. :)

No idea. I was bored and surfing Amazon and saw it, so thought I'd get it. Still hasn't shipped yet though and I'm not fussed enough to actually make the effort to go out and look for it.

i just had a look its coming out in the UK in august, it came out in US a while ago. its pretty decent, updated quite well, and theold version is there to boot. cant say its on my most played list.

I've had this for a few days now, and it's not bad imo. I'm quite the fan of the other lego games too, so it appeals to me.

Agreed that the music sounds very similar in places to Lego Starwars, but isn't the composer the same guy (Williams, iirc)?

Well I was a big fan of the original, so hopefully I'll enjoy it. And I still have a while to figure out where I actually put my DS as I haven't used it in donkey's years!

yeah john williams scored both films, but i think the sondtrack from the star wars lego game is used in places in the indy game.

Downloaded it and not tried it I can understand, but why would you buy it then not play it?

I've got quite a few games that I've brought and not played yet. Lost Planet, The Darkness, Mass Effect (only got this last week though) and at least 5 or 6 more that I've not played yet. I do it all the time. Don't even get me started on the amount of DVD's that I've brought and not watched even once yet (I still have at lesat 2 that are still in the shrink wrap and I've had them for about 3 years now :) )

My ex did that ALL the time ... there would be like 10-20 DVDs all in a row waiting to be watched, or a bunch of second-hand games waiting ... for weeks ... etc.

What a horrendously awful thing to say! Are you nuts!!!!!!!!! ;-)

    It was Basil Poledouris

I hadn't played it because I didn't have the time..

I played it today though and it is very good. You can use the remote to use the whip or use a button. I recommend it.

PS: I liked Basil Poledouris' scores to Robocop and Starship Troopers - didn't know he was dead though.

Oh dear, could I possibly be anymore wrong?! Honestly, I can explain... I downloaded the Robocop theme using Limewire a while back, and whoever named the file had named it "John Williams - Robocop Theme"!! Honest, guv!!

My kids love the game, but in some of the levels the background turns black. At first I thought it was part of the game, but I'm starting to believe it might be something with my old PCI Ati Radeon. :(
