Got my second place back on Cobra last night with a score of 87 thousand odd but the database didn't update, then noticed I hadn't logged in, arrrggghhh :( I'm not the first and won't be the last to do this ;) Oh well...
Scottie, your idea of pumping the top ten into the games themselves would be cool, I suggested the same a few weeks ago but can't remember if it was in this thread or the site :D

I havent checked the high scores for a while, i was in the top 5 but even though i got to the final level i flippin got killed before i could complete it !
So funny though that normally you play better, the second you know its logged you start to get nervous and make schoolboy errors !

Welcome to my world I couldn't even get past the "Return of the Alien Kong Beast" screen on MM, and that's not usually that hard of a screen really. I died falling off things though, not by getting hit by guardians, that's what really got to me :evil:
I just got 4th place on my 2nd go of Tapper.....that was about 2hrs play.....I gave up of sheer bordom and could have gone on all day...(and I am supposed to be working after all..)
The top dog has 999,### points....must have been a 24hr run :O

I want to like Turbo the Tortoise, but it's just either too slow, or some of the jumps you gotta do don't seem quite fair, I don't know, keep it :D

Well I'll let you in on a tip for Cobra that you may not know if you've only recently beat it....on the Factory bit, if you save the Invincibility Pill for fighting the Night Slasher, you'd best make sure that you headbutt him, otherwise if you just run into him while you're invincible and he dies, the game only detects that you've killed a normal enemy and you end up stuck on an empty level until you turn off and start again. Obviously you can blame Frobrush for that one :wink: :wink: but it's such a good game that we can let him off.
I'll beat Pgyuri one of these days, don't you worry.....one of these days......

I like that game as its quite different but boy it gets frustrating ! You think youve cleared a screen but then one person just stops before going off screen and drinks their drink and then more appear etc, too stressful that game for me !

Just got 499,### on it...its easy once you know the trick. I might for for the number one spot this weekend....hope it doesn't zero out at 1,000,000.

I feel your pain at it logging you out, but hey, you ranked up a pretty impressive score afterwards so it ain't all bad ;) I got a mate who joined (SilentMist, Gregg) and I watched him beat my second place score at IK+ with a 50,000 + score, and it had logged him out, so I seen it happen, luckily never happened to me yet when I been logged in for sure, so here's hoping *_+
I'd recommend you trying to beat my score on Gunrunner, another hard game a bit similar in ways, but it has me at about 49 thou and my actual top score was only 14950, although I have scored about 22,000 and it didn't register :( Pity they wouldn't reset people's scores down to what they have honestly said they were, would make a few games ready for a play off again :)

Ah yes I remember the days of staying up til' 5:32 am, smoking a big Bob Marley joint, and drinking 8-12 cans of Harp Irish, 2 big bottles of green Redsquare, and 2 Bottles of Gordons edge with Lime (the Lemon one was mingin') for dessert, and munching my way through the two 12' Pizzas (for the price of 1) I'd got from the Manhattan Pizza co at 2:00 am (long after the shop was supposed to close).

Hit pause when the last boss fires his gun, and it stops the bullet

No - not that one, its more of a score builder - on the first three levels, dispose of the thugs as quickly as possible. When the boss comes into the action, use a back kick. Now timing is crucial, the boss enters 'stun' mode and cannot move, move really close until Renegade is almost obsucring the boss. NOw as soon as the boss begins to move, use a jumping kick. (its worth a 100 points per kick) Keep the up, direction and fire button depressed. Rene will then continue to jump kick the boss and the boss will not be able to move or fall over - letting you rack up a hefty score. Be warned though, the boss's enrgy will deplete but they seem to regain there full health. I managed to rack up nearly 70,000 points before getting to level 4 using this method.

I went to the shop, leaving Manic Miner paused with 150,000 or thereabouts on the clock when I gets back I swishes the mouse, I see Manic Miner, then the computer crashes and everything starts running really slowly and everything went horribly wrong.
I tried closing things didn't work, I tried CTRL+ALT+DELETE that didn't work, infact things went so tits up I had to pull the fucking plug!
I was like please, please, please myspeccy, save my score.
It didn't, Almost 3 hours of playing Manic Miner over and over again for nothing, oh how shit is that!!!???!!!
I give up they can keep the score on that game, it's one of my faves but after wasting that much time on it I'm not sure I want to see the fucker ever again :mad:
I haven't tried Myspeccy yet (about to), but it would be good if you could snapshot your game and continue it another day.
Edit: Just tried Deathchase, can't believe I crashed 3 times on Sector 7 night patrol. First go, 6th on the board. I'll try again later, got to beat that top score, I usually beat those scores using emulator.

Thats what I thought - Have been playing renegade constantly to try to get the high score - currently 5th. Its when the pressure kicks in, thats when things get a bit 'flinchy'.
I thought i was good at games like Sir Lancelot or Cobra but some people have a HUGE score, surely they cheated !!
Its like years ago when i thought i was good at Quake II, went online and got totally whooped by the best players i've ever known.
Some of the scores on the Speccy site are incredible. I thought i was alright at games but some of the scores i'll never beat !
Neither me nor CKay cheated on Cobra. We've got quite the little war going on over the top spot for that game, but I can assure you that it is possible to get high scores with a little practice. :wink: I got a 200,000 score myself at one point (not quite as high as CKay's, but nearly) although myspeccy.com had logged me out for some reason so it didn't count. :(

I worked (well played) bloomin' hard for 1st place, don't even think you can cheat on Cobra, it's not like you can scum for points as each level is on a timer so once that's up it's up.
I do scum for points on Bubble Bobble though :D , the old burst your own bubbles trick, but used to do that back in the day when playing two player, and so did my mates, so I assume people are still doing that on that particular game.
It's nice to see the really high scores, it shows how much people are putting into the games on the site, I've already completed a few games that I never had, and some of them can complete really easily now :)
