I've been visiting this site ever since I discovered it back in 1997. Like Chris Owen/NVG and Damien Burke before them (where are they now?), Martijn and all the other people involved with WoS (you know who you are :) ) have done more to preserve the Spectrum legacy than even I have thought possible.
Gamestage, on the other hand, has singlehandedly succeeded in destroying a lot of the work the aforementioned have put into it in the space of only a few months. If you want to be a part of the scene, then why don't you become a part of this site instead of subverting the work already done by acting on your own. But maybe it's too late for that as you seem to have alienated everyone here and made quite a few enemies along the way.
That's all I'll say on the matter. Don't bother sending any abusive emails to me because they'll go directly into the trash can.

Dear Gamestage,
The reason you are getting negative responses from software houses is that you have the diplomacy skills of a baboon. This thread is evidence of that, and so is this one.
Why don?t you do the world a favour and throw yourself under the nearest bus / train / donkey & cart (or 'join a SELF-TERMINATIONS session' as you may put it).
Alternatively maybe you could ask a member of staff to increase your medication.
Hope this helps you in some way.
Best wishes.

The snowball is rolling and it will just get bigger and bigger.
Whilst retrogaming was the domain of the passionate hobbyist, it harmed no one. No one minded that their old games were being remembered in such way. Things were good.
Unfortunally, things have changed, greed has got in the way, people think they can still make money out of these old programs, unfortunally, the number don't reflect that. No one will pay a price for a game that is 20 years old and pull in a profit. The result, a company has one classic game and a number of good to fair others, the result, they are all denied. This trend is accelerating.
I've been visiting WOS for years and years alough it's only been in the last few that I wanted to become 'involved'
When I got serious about HTML in the mid 90's, I wanted to write a site to represent my passion for the spectrum.
I had an idea.
Others had had the same idea.
WOS was already in place, nothing much else was out there.
More and more people flocked to WOS.
The idea became an institution.
Then we get a magazine called RETROGAMER, this shed ( ahm ) more light on the hobbyist passion of a few. More people came to the fold.
Then enter GAMESTAGE.
No matter how hard I try, no matter what angle I look at this site. No matter what point of view I try to approach the subject from. I get the same answer.
Gamestage's main goal is to single-handedly cause as much damage as possible to the ZX Spectrum retro community.
The situation is only going to get worse.
If you do take a look at his pathetic little piss-pot site, you will see, content is poor, or ripped off at best, and his passion is to harass as many companies as possible. He just bleeds contempt and anger from all around.
These will be remembered as the last of the golden days of spectrum retro gaming
And Gamestage will forever be rememberd as nothing more than the sad, pathetic little child that was instrumental in making it happen.
History will prove me right. Sad as that is.

Amstrad says that they do not allow ANYONE to freely distribute the ROMS, which means that your permission was either granted by someone outside Amstrad
Yes... That'll be it, yes... Obviously we've been talking to someone outside of Amstrad!
Jesus, you really are a twat.
or... my several replies from Amstrad are ALL WRONG.
I'd go with that one. Given your skills in communication and the fact that you're a nasty shithead who steals and lies, I'd say that anyone you talk to spots you a mile off and denies distribution to you.
Hmmmm... very strange, isn't it?
Nope. You get the reactions from people I'd expect them to give.
You don't seem to understand. Please read Gamestage's notice - AMSTRAD point.

Gamestage! Just stop being a twat please. It's all that Mel (and all of us) really want.
Thought I might chip in a little here , as out of all the people here I have more insider knowledge on this whole situation than ANYONE here (dont mean that in a big headed way but I do), but other than that due to various NDA agreements I have signed, I cannot say more than that.
But I am sure , that if you are patient , in the not to distant future you might be suprised what retro-soft has done for you , and it is 99% good. You might also be glad that I , trading through retro-soft , has done it , and not some big faceless company , again for lots of reasons which WILL become clear in the course of time , and also be glad that retro-soft has licensed the games of many authors of Spectrum games as opposed to a larger international company , as whilst we have to turn a small profit ( a chunk of which goes back in a bigger percentage to the authors than any large company would give them ) I would suggest that you might even encourage other authors/companies to sign up with retro-soft , to protect the games , rather than allow a larger international company to control them. This might not all make sense to you at this moment in time , but when you look back on it over the coming months it will , and hopefully you will agree with me , in the meantime , I am fairly sure the sky is not about to fall in on the spectrum community , and also as above in time you might think it is one of the better things to have happened.
They will be a range of annoucements over the next few weeks (let alone months) on http://www.retro-soft.co.uk , so keep an eye on us , things like this always take time !

Fair enough and we look forward to that all that but that doesn't stop Gamestage reacting like a complete wanker and pissing people off all over the place.
Bridges that have been carefully built by the WOS over time are being bulldozed at a rate of knots by Gamestage and unless your secret plans involve a hitman performing a Portugeuse assassination then I can't see how it can drastically improve the current situation.

Funny reading that retro-soft stuff and then waiting for the huge announcements !
They still seem to be releasing games for some of the later consoles which sounds cool, as for the whole Speccy retro scene it looks like they didnt do much with that

OOHH Beccy is there any need for language like that?
