Yeah, I found the same when I emulated Damocles (ok, not a Speccy game, but still) - I was astonished at how slow it was to walk around. At the time I thought it was simply incredible, and speed was never an issue. Spoiled by years of FPS's where you can charge around like greased lightning I guess.
Damocles (on the ST, never played the Amiga version) was superb at the time (at least once you'd gotten used to the realistic but irritating effects of Relativity in space), but I suppose now it would look very bland, to our spoilt eyes.
By the way, if you don't mind me asking, did you choose the user name Avon in honour of Kerr Avon, the brilliant character from Blakes 7?
It`s far too slow at standard speed, so I hike it up to 150% for a great game. If I want a challenge then it goes to 200%.
Yes, because Lunar Jetman is sooooo easy at it's normal speed [/sarcasm]
On topic: I wish the frame rate of the Sentinel could be speeded up without throwing anything else off track, although it is still *very* playable as it is.
Thunderbirds (MAD Super Silver Edition), although as that ends when the clock reaches 2:00:00 you also need an infy-time POKE (available from me via the Tipshop)...
At about 4x speed it's a pretty decent game, except for those irritating flying swastikas...
I never make misteaksmistrakesmisyaleserrurs — oh, sod it.
Funny how we never used to care (or notice?) about slow frame rates etc hmm?
The only criticism I can remember throwing around the playground was when the C64 kids would say the graphics on some of their games were "a bit blocky" :D Well yeh, it's on C64...
Ahem anyway, on topic... Forest of Doom. It's quicker to read the bloody book. Bad part about speeding it up is it doesn't wait for input before it scrolls, which can be entertaining, but still, play the book instead, it's more fun.
Ha! Well yes and no. I've got the wait down to a second but takes a bit longer at the start of the league. So yes, i've probably bumped it up more that 400% :)
