Am I a bad boy?

Sorry it's not about illicit or illegal things, you can leave now.

I've finally given up on frigging with my style sheets to compensate for IE6.

The final straw being IE6 refusal to display fonts at the correct size. I believe it is a default bug whereby IE6 doesn't inherit CSS values from parent DIVs which is contrary to standards.

In my defence the stats I've seen show IE6 market share declining rapidly (mostly due to MS agressive upgrades to IE7).

I just don't want to go back through my stylesheet and put entries in every section as that is what the standard says you shouldn't do.

Sigh. Moan.

And I forgot to take back my unused warranties to Richer Sounds. ?60 wasted.

Bah.

And my best customer has been put out of business by Northern Rock/Bank of England/Gordon the unelected Brown.

Humbug.

I was referring to the proverbial "we" ... If one doesn't have a mobile phone, then one sticks to e-mailing ... I'm a proud non-texter, have never sent a single text-message in my life.

I don't support IE6 either it's 7 years old and buggy. I didn't want to support it when it came out but my old bosses made me do it :) If somebody hasn't upgraded to IE7 or something better in the 2 years since IE7 was released they should be happy to turn style sheets of and view pages like lynx users.

I tend to find that if a site looks good on an iphone as well as FF then it will look ok in IE.

Most problems seem to stem from people trying clever CSS tricks - if you keep it simple then there are no issues.

Having said that - I do have to do some trickery to make my CSS menus fly-out properly :)

Would one rather want to be proverbial than royal? This WoSsers says yes.

    Nothing fancy at all.

IE6 just makes up it's own font sizes.

I guess the other main bugbear is non standard border and padding sizes but that was an easy (but should be unnecessary) fix.

But I'm glad it's not just me. Managed to find many more whiners compliaining about the same things :)
