Thunder and lightning

*pout*

Why do the best electrical storms around where I live happen in the middle of the night when I'm not in the mood to appreciate them?

And now the lightning's over mainland Europe. Basts.

I enjoyed the bucketing rain at 1am and it was so welcome I clambered out of my pit and stood outside in it :)

Re your link, on the animated version of the lightning strike maps, any idea what the little icon that looks like a phone/old printer represents?

I *think* that's meant to be a detected thundercloud (think "anvil-shaped-cloud" here).

    Aha, from the website:

"Also an overlay plot of last main synoptic (:00) hour METAR observed thunderstorms and cumulonimbus."

    Which are thunderclouds. IIRC.

Live? No, but there's plenty of galleries online - Google is your friend, especially Google Image Search.

Anyone in Florida for the last 5 days will have seen many Thunderstorms, with much lightening related action.

Namely me, but I say anybody cos' I'm sure there are other people who have seen such things.

Since you're in Alambama I was curious if you've ever seen "Big Jims Boobie Bungalo"?

.......Or if you've ever had the strange misfortune to stop at the McDonalds in Luverne, if not don't, it's a very scary experience.

Oh and on a more serious note me and the missus drove through one of those storms in the southern part of 'bama yesterday morning. It was ridiculous, I thought it was game over because we couldn't see a bloody thing :D

According to the BBC weather, there's supposed to have been thunder here for the last 3 days - there's been nothing!
My brother told me there was a some thunder at 2am on friday night. I was asleep and missed it which is unusual as i'm quite a light sleeper

Hey, this is very niche (one person only: ewgf), but I'm sure in this case it can be technically counted as a porn link, no? ;)

There is no stormchaser van porn on the internet.

(although wetriffs.com does actually exist now. Probably still NSFW, but I can't check because I'm at W)
