European DS's and North American cards

edited August 2008 in Chit chat
I'm currently in Canada and the prices for DS games are somewhat cheaper than they are in the UK. Do the cards for North American DS's work okay on European DS's or are there problems/preventions like with DVDs? The blurb on the boxes seems to suggest that they only work on North American consoles.

DS's are region free - there's no difference with the hardware whatsoever and no region lockouts.

Any DS will run any DS cart. I imported a few games from the states for my DS when the european release date was months behind.

You want to be very careful ... the games you buy in North America actually run backwards and somewhat slower once they're imported to Oorohpe. Has something to do with how the DS detects it's region automatically and that the screen refresh rate goes from 60hz down to 50hz once you are located elsewhere.

All GBA and PSP games are region free too, the only things that are region locked on the PSP are UMD movies. But nobody buys those

Nah, you don't. Firstly because it's shite and you could spend your money on something better, and secondly because the R4 now has cheats that remap the attachment buttons to your DS's buttons.

Look right, then left, listen intently, then cross the street at the crosswalk, cautiously, as long as there are no high-speed vehicles approaching.

Failing that they do sell condoms in vending machines at truck-stops.
