Don't you wish all spectrum games had presentation like this?
    Very nice :D

Having a slight problem playing the game. I am using RealSpect32 for the TR-DOS Capability.

When I run the game I get to the point where I select which Island I want to play and I get an error stating

    Read Only
    Track 58 ......blah blah blah
    Retry, Abort, Ignore

I have tried this under both Pentagon and ZX Scorpion 256k..

Any help would be much appreciated.

    TIA :)

It needs to write to the disk at some point for some reason - and Realspectrum has the disk in Write-Protect mode. I've never used Realspectrum so I don't know how you go about disabling it..

It's under the Disk Panel (F6).
The write protection is off by default, but when you 'insert' the Fire & Ice disk it turns it to On - just go back to the Disk Panel and switch it off again.

A very nice game indeed! Another fine piece of software from our Russian brethren. Great presentation, great graphics, great music, great loading screen... Go and try this immediately! :)

Thanks for the advice, it works fine now.

Wow!!!! What an excellent game. It reminds me of some of the PS1 Puzzle games.

It amazing that it a speccy game.

    WELL DONE :)

Nah, I use Spectaculator, and it has more than accurate enough timings for me :) If I need it more accurate than that, I load it on a real spectrum :D

DOS doesn't really go well with dual CPU's, and I can't be bothered with dual booting.. And Win32 Realspectrum sucks balls..

Wow... a REALLY nice game indeed.

When I saw the loading screen my first tought was that it was a "remake" of the Amiga game "Fire & Ice" - since the loading screen is exactly the same as that (they ripped the amiga screen and converted it to speccy Screen$). But the game is a puzzler instead of a platformer... but still a great game.

Anyone fancy doing a .TAP or .TZX version ? :)

Wonderful! I love that type of logical games. This one is very conformable to Boovie.

Spectaculator is indeed a fine product, but for some reason it never made me hold my breath. Maybe that's because I prefer DOS emulators, like RS and X128. They are generally faster and more stable (at least on my system, dunno about others). However, I understand that people using OSs newer than Win98SE often have problems with the good old command line.

Too bloody true. After all it's simply a port of the DOS version, made in order to see how the core of the code would behave under such a different environment. I didn't even bother to download it, and kept using the DOS original. Anyway, I'm still waiting for the native Win32 version of RS... (gente, avete sentito?! ;))

    If this error appeared
Before the begining of the game
you have to DELETE (!!!) file fai_save.s
    and restart game.

Phew, I've finished this game yet. Well, I have to tell this was an excellent challenge. Sometimes I had dreamless nights which was made by some rooms like 4/9 or 7/2 or 10/6 but the idea of game without score, time, life helped me to enjoy this game very much. Of course if this game had released by a software-house many years ago, I bet time and life should have be in the game,I would have cheated :)

The animations at the end is excellent, but I'm afraid only few person will see that. The game wrote me my total playing time: 11h 22m 18s ...

    Thanks for your work !
