"Zagrebo". The "o" offers as much "disguise" as Clark Kent's glasses.

    :)

i didn't see you, i kept dying, so i switched it off cos i was loosing too badly. i went onto one, and could only last for about 3 seconds. i playeda co-op one, that was ok.

how do you say things in the game?

I got a bit sick of all those 3lite h4xx0r (as I believe the y0un8 p30pl3 say) type players who shot you as soon as you re-spawned and always seemed to have rocket-launchers too. I'm hoping WOS peeps are a bit crapper.

No idea. I checked the "read this" screen which supposedly has the in-game keys but there was no mention of any chat button.

yeah, it'd be people running into walls blowing themselves up with rocket launchers. :D

i had a look in the command prompts list, it did say how you did it, but it wasn't clear at all. i would ask on the forum, but im too fragile for the abuse i'd recieve. ;)

you have to bind a key in to go into chat mode.

from the main game, hit esc, and navigate to the change controls bit.

I hope no-one wasted any time trying to connect to that 'wos chat server' earlier...

that was me, and I'm having Issues...
stupid piece of crap software hates my network configuration, and no amount of routing table, or firewall jiggery pokery seems to want to let clients actually connect to the server :(

I've just managed to get mine up and running. I'll have to keep an eye out for the WoS server next time I play it (couldn't spot it this time).

it's not an official server or anything...
last night starglider hosted it, and as I say tonight I couldn't get clients to connect (well that's a lie, I got it working on my lan once with the internet unplugged, but that's not a lot of use is it!)

Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

Okay, I've got Ultimate Doom/DoomII/Final Doom installed aswell as that ZDaemon thing.

I run ZDaemon, put in a username and password, click New Account and it keeps coming up saying that it "can't connect to the master server".

I do have a router that might be blocking it, but what ports etc do I need to open? The web page and help are as useful as a retired hooker.

as long as your software firewall is allowing zdaemon to make outbound connections it should just work...
you only need to open ports on the router to host servers

It hasn't even got as far as the firewall actually.

Sygate should come up asking wether to allow it or not and it never has.

Although, I have now gone into Sygate and done it myself and it hasn't made the slightest bit of difference.

Mine seems to be working ok. I've just downloaded doom2.wad, so I'm having a bash at that. Works fine, but I get killed like every 10 seconds. (Think I may have spotted guesser on there).

Okay, I got on just now, but I couldn't see the wos server.

Going out to see Dark Knight in a few minutes so I'll have to try again tomorrow.

    What's the password?
  • edited September 2008
The server is up and running for this evening. The password is the start address (in decimal) of the speccy's screen display.

Would also be good if anyone joining in going into the WoS chat room.
