Worst excuse ever

"Loyalist paramilitary Michael Stone has denied trying to kill the Sinn Fein leadership. He said the day he tried to force his way into Stormont was simply "an act of performance art". "
He could have come up with something better than that ! Its like some of the London Underground bombers saying it was a 'protest' and they never wanted the bombs to go off at all (Because they thankfully screwed them up).
Act of performance art ?!? I think he should sack his lawyer if someone gave him that advice, crazy

I'm sort-of waiting for that story to be taken down because it's a joke or something. It's simply too bizarre to be true, surely.
Its just sooo bizarre/stupid its funny. Ha ha did laugh at your line though Miles, very true, i'll use the good old excuse of 'performance art' next time i do something wrong. So much in that BBC link made me laugh...
"Rather than trying to wreck the peace process, Stone said he had been trying to help the peace process by staging an art-based protest at the political deadlock that existed at the time. "
Like the judge/police etc will say to him 'yeah fair enough, we thought it might have been an art-based protest about the political protest but we werent sure due to the explosives and gun found in your rucksack, apologies and have a good day"
he might be going for the mental health angle
