    he probably didn't do a lot in the company, i assume he hired people to make the sauces, test the sauces, sell the sauces etc. he probably just sat on the board of directors.

    not really, more like on the board of directors, rather than a chief exec.

    True. A profit is what is left over after all overheads have been taken out. I would suspect that he didn't claim a wage from it.
