I'm suprised they let you in, not that I know you of course but they seem to have very strict immigration laws these days... and they are running out of drinking water so I heard. Sounds great!

lol, I've a PR visa, apparently uni qualified peeps with experience are wanted 'ere!!

drinking water's a worry though, given the amount of rain the reserves won't even last another 5 years, most are only 30% right now,
I can't believe that they only enforced compulsary rainwater tanks a couple of years ago on newly built houses..........
the UK has by far better 'green' credentials like that!

One of my mates is soon moving to Perth. His Uncle lives there owns some packaging company. He's got him a job in his company and an apartment for him and his wife! Talk about being a jammy bastard!

I would love to move to Australia.

The thing about Australia, or so I've heard, is that people on ordinary wages can afford to have a half decent sized house with a swimming pool.

    Definitely sounds appealing.

true but the houses are full of black widow spiders, deadly snakes, and the pools are filled with crocs. :p

At least they can filter the pool-water later on when the drought really hits them ... or something?

After they mate, they usually kill and eat their spouse ... so, yes.

nope, unless you wanna live in the middle of woop whoop, housin here's gone silly,

pretty much all employment is within an hour of the city centre.....affordable housing is around 2 hours!

here in Melbourne for example, I'm in St Kilda.......it's 20 min on the tram to the city centre, work's in the suburbs, about 30k/45min commute away
    a 1 bedroom apartment , in a 1950's apartment block of 3x6 here goes for around $340,000

it's cheap compared to london prices!!

however, considering back in wales I lived only 25ish min from cardiff city centre, 10 min from my local (rather large) shopping centre and 15-20 min from wales's third city...in a 3 bed, semi detached house that currently sells for around 110,000 quid........there's a 1/3rd price disparity for the same relative distance !!

now, if I moved to (say) somewhere like dartmoor that's an hour and a half drive from plymouth....people would rightly say i'm loopy to do that, the housing would be cheap tho!

considering wages here start around $33,000 for a year, people simply can't afford to buy any more, rental properties are only around 0.7% vacancy, so, when a good place goes, there's 40+ potential renters inspecting and it's almost compulsary to offer more than the asking price ($15 a week extra secured my old place!) to ensure you get considered!

if you want cheap housing, don't come here!!

spiders, etc, you rarely see them in victoria.......huntsmen are big and scary, but harmless

seeing the sheer number of alive people here is a testament to the lack of deadly thingies out there!

Yes, yes... also, did you know the streets of London are paved with gold? And the grass in the next town really is greener, after all?

Hasn't been paved with gold since about 1892, A small amount of it was dig out the road by tramps who needed some gin :D

The rest was sold of to Elizabeth Duke and melted down to make huge loopy earrings, and clown necklaces for charva lasses, and gold Boxing glove necklaces for to go round their radgee boyfriends necks, and cheap looking twisted link gold chains to go round their 1, 3, 5, 6, and 8 year olds necks.
