Ever started a flame war on a forum other than the World of Spectrum forums?
I was considering finding a Kerry Katona forum to start one off. :)
Has anybody ever pretended to be into whatever subject the forum is based on, only to come out of cover after a few posts and start huge aguments on that forum?

I did join and then went off on one about how crap and talentless she is.
When Michael Jackson was in the press tons with his court case i went to a MJ forum and found it very disturbing the amount of fans who instantly think hes 100% innocent and how they would all let their kids stay in a bed with MJ, disturbing.
A month ago there was a news item on the BBC site about people who think the world is flat, went to their forum expecting to read some entertaining stuff but again was quite shocked at the thoughts that some people had, they really really did believe the world was flat and the guy who tried to talk his way out of how a plane goes from one end of the world to the other was the worst.
But the MJ fans were the worst by far

when i was the "daddy" on the official streets forum (in about 2002/3) there was a big thing about Chris Moyles (and cronies) hated em, so me and some other regs at the time went onto his forum to "cause trouble" a few started blatently calling him names, lard was thrown about (not actual lard just the word :P) i was trying to be a bit more mellow in my piss taking.
anyway it wasnt long before we all got banned and got our email addresses posted on the forum for all his little "fans" to harrass us

It was the Rage Against the Machine board. It was a mad place. Sometimes other communities used to try and invade it, but like Terry Pratchett says about Ank Morpok, they just got assimilated and found themselves with their own slang and part of the community.
come to think of it, I don't think I even surf the web now, I look for information on google, for instance a simple illustration of the moons orbit, or occasionally another search engine, do a bit of shopping and post on the same old boards.
back in the old days...........about 2004 or someat, maybe earlier i used to be reg in a winmx chatroom called the hot tub, anyway loads of us thought itd be funny to go into this white supremicist chat room, we all renamed ourselves stuff like black_and_proud and im_gay_wanna_suck stuff like that and went in, but there was only about 3 people in and nobody talked :(
anyway we browsed their files and it was all stuff like faithless, eminem and hip hop?????

Ohhh that sounds harsh ! Got a lot of respect for soldiers, sadly you normally only hear the very bad stories when some twats go totally OTT and do some sick stuff to innocent people.
Still tons of chavs join the army but at least theyre 'hopefully' getting taught respect and other stuff etc. As long as theyre not round here nicking cars i dont mind
Similar thing on irc. A group of us invented a game where someone picked nick and then went to a random chat room to see how quickly they would get a private message.
I used to pick notsosweet21 or something and enter a cybersex channel and get dozens in seconds. A bird used to think this was hillarious and had a go she picked a name no self respecting internet pervert would pass up on but couldn't think where to go so I suggested #bearsex as it was full of men looking for cyber and phone sex. She popped in and hung around for about 10 mins.
the people in #bearsex where men looking to have a wank in company. In the company of big hairy men :)
For about 2 days we thought this was the best game ever and game up with a no sex rule to make it more interesting so we'd have to be more inventive getting people to get personal with us. The anti/pro divides where the ones that worked. You could tell the ones that wanted a good verbal ruck you didn't get kicked within 2 seconds and could start a fight. Great days.
Back in the year dot I used to use a fidonet type bbs thing which included a message board called political incorrectness. The whole thing was barmy and one constant flamewar in flux. Some amazing crap happened there.
She got crazy though and started sending me e-mails about the death of the promised land, with pics of eagles heads on either side of the burning twin towers. I lost my intersweat connection not long after so I escaped. But now I live in the US and in constant fear she'll find me hunt me down and eat me....she's fat enough she might just eat me.
I remember a couple of moments word for word I almost pissed myself laughing at.
Her: You're not a Ni**er are you?
Me: What?
Her: If you are I don't mind.
Like what if I was black did she think I'd have continued talking after that?
Her: Do you like kids.
Me: No I can't stand them, they annoy my intensely.
Her: :( Dang! I Have 6.

No but if I could access my old Freeserve email account I'm sure I could get it :lol:
I think the last bounced message to that account was october 2003, chances of me retrieving anything from it now are very slim indeed, considering I went offline at the start of march 2003. Plus those freeserve email accounts die with your subscription, they're not like yahoo, you can't keep using your email after you quit using there ISP.
I'd be gutted but after 18 months offline you don't really give a shit anymore, I didn't even try to read my old emails when I got back online in late 2004 :lol:

Aye it was harsh! but we can only go on the personal experiences we have had to come to any conclusion, so I claim diplomatic immunity. I love sweeping generalizations, me - they are so unfair :)
In general of course its way too easy to wade in on a forum and upset people. It brings out the devil in most of us, and sometimes people overreact. Initially its amusing but then it drags on an on and on... I have seen a word here called Trollism to describe such behaviour. That's a good word for it. Who made that up then?
Not recently and never intentionally. Good times. Although Wikishitians and iMBD morons beg for it.
