i hate those scams, they make the real nigerian entrepanuer look like a crook.

i bet they can't conduct any sort of business abroad without being reported to the FBI.

You'd think a Reverend would remember that greed was one of the deadly sins.

Just being a Reverend indicates that she had already bought into a bigger scam than the Nigerian one.

My god, what must her poor husband be going though.

    What a dullard.

Now, if thats not encouragement for those Nigerian Scams to keep going I dont know what is. For those behind it, it must have been like winning the lottery. This is going to inspire loads of would be scammsters.

What I do not understand is if her husband, bank and US law officials knew what was going on why did they not freeze her account for her own safety. I suppose that would be illegal to go against her own free (if stupid) will.

When she began to doubt she was sent letters from the FBI Director, the US President and the President of Nigeria. She still thought it was genuine and ignored the pleas of her family and law enforcement officials in the US.
For more than two years, Spears sent tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars. Everyone she knew, including law enforcement officials, her family and bank officials, told her to stop, that it was all a scam. She persisted.

ffs. She ignored her family, her bank and the local police and trusted misspelt emails from the president, foreign president and the fbi?

Just how stupid can you be? Even Homer's not that stupid.
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

That's a good point, especially if it's a joint account. The husband could've stopped her getting access to it under mental health reasons.

This thread reminded of the 419eater site, which I'm sure most of us know already as it has been brought up here in the past - but maybe it will be still new to a few viewers. This story with the rodent destroying a breadbox (carved out of wood, no less) from the inside was priceless

They should charge her for the cost of transmitting, filtering and deleting the billions of e-mails that will now be sent by every other chancer encouraged by the prospect of a similar jackpot.

$400,000 should just about cover it.

    Dear Beloved,

I send my love and greetings to you. I am Mrs Tracey Marshall from United Kingdom. I am married to Late Dr. Mark Marshall of blessed memory who was oil explorer in Kuwait and Brunei for ten years before he died in the year 2005. We were married for ten years without a child. He died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days. Before his death we were committed to each other and respect each others interest. Since after his death, I too have been battling with both Cancer and fibroid problems, my doctor told me that I have few months to live due to my cancer problem that lead to a stroke attack. This bothers me so much as it have affected my speech and movement so badly. Having known my condition I decided to seek for your help. I am in search of a honest and sincere individualthat will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct herein.
When my late Husband was alive he Deposited the sum of $10Million (Ten Million United States Dollars) in a Security Company under my name, the money is deposited as Family Valuables/Treasure for security reasons. If you are willing to take up this responsibility, you will have 20% of the US$10million to ensure that you are prepared for the task ahead, 75% of it will be used in all sincerity to fund orphanages, widows, research on cancer and also propagating the word of God and to ensure that the society upholds the views and beliefs of human existence, while 5% of the fund will be used for legal and attorney fees.

I am taking this decision because the relatives of my husband have confiscated other of our wealth without giving any to the needy. Based on that I don't want to entrust this fund to any of them, and I have no child, I cannot take the fund to the grave. I don't want a situation where this money will be used in inappropriate manner. Since my health is retrogressing by all minute, so my dear do get back to me and let me know if you are willing to carry out this work.

Then I will make arrangement to prepare the Authorization for you to get Possession of this Fund. I pray that this letter bring you and your family good tiding while my dreams to help humanity rest squarely on your shoulders. Do remember me in your prayers because that is what I needed most for now.

    Remain Blessed,
    Mrs Tracey Marshall
