Games with good sound of engine

edited December 2008 in Games
Spectrum beeper and AY chip aren't too good with generating the sound of (car, motorbike etc.) engine. But sometimes engine sound in Speccy game is quite good.
For example:
Tomahawk - good helicopter engine sound,
Deathchase - good motorbike engine sound,
Nightmare Rally - good car engine sound.

Any other examples?

    Formula One engine sounds. Superb.

Enduro Racer isn't excellent, but I like it.

This thread reminds me of my attempt (in BASIC) at creating a Test Driver clone. The whole thing worked with CIRCLE, DRAW, PRINT and BEEP commands for the 'sound engine'.

    I've mentioned this game before.

One more game I remember: Beach Head II. The sound of chopper engine on the first level was great.

The engine sound on Wec Le Mans 128k certainly adds to the game rather than detract from it like what usually happens. The tyres thumping on the ground was good on Stunt Car Racer too :)

Hostages, setting of the troops on the roof, there is helicopter landing sequence, the helicopter sound is almost realistic (and it's only good setting of AY registers, it's not sample).

Firelord had a brilliant "chink! chink!" sound when you died and your helmet dropped to the floor.

The copter noise in Zombie Zombie was good too.

That's one of the most memorable beeper sound effects for me too. Superbly realised, shame those kinds of effects never found their way into any beeper tunes.

I seem to think Wheelie had an ok sound for the motorbike, but it's been a while since I played it!

I've got it running it's demo mode in FUSE right now - it's not too bad actually!! The game overall is annoyingly noisey though.......
