The basic idea was alright, but it just came across as a Buffy/Supernatural/Primeval/Harry Potter/Smallville mish-mash for the under 16's, and not as good as any of those series....
One of the characters was called Ruby, and at one point she was kidnapped and the main character decides to go rescue her and then "Ruby" by the Kaiser Chiefs kicks in...WTF??
Just really boring, badly acted (although the script does the actors no favours) and a huge letdown....The only saving grace was the special effects, which were perfectly fine....
I hope this gets better as I'm all for new Buffy-type programs, but this seemed confused as to who it was targetting and as Mr. Brooker says, it's very easy to lose interest in whats happening on screen and start thinking about what to have for tea instead...
I'd put it on a par with the last 2 series of Buffy. (OK they were the worst of all Joss' stuff.)
The FX were as good as current Doctor Who.
The transatlantic accent was pretty bad.
Could've been nice and dark if they'd not made the baddies such comic characters.
A blind seer is a bit old hat.
Oh look a secret hide-out full of 20 year old weapons more advanced than anything we've ever seen before and books too. Never seen anything like that before.
Maybe a couple more episodes just to see if the acting and scripts settle down?
I didnt have high hopes (most BBC sci-fi series are poor imitations of american ones in my view) and it was dire. Wont be watching again, very poor, Bonekickers Mk II
Can't be much worse than Buffy with all her talk of "Vanquishing", yeah OK bollocks.
That show was shite as well though, tried to get into it when I was younger, but just found it laughable and cheesy. My bests friends sis was addicted to it though, so if me and my mates were ever round at hers on the weekend we'd have to suffer Buffy followed by Angel.

Cringeworthy shite!
I'm actually a huge Buffy fan....not when it was all Buffy/Angel romantic pish....but it had a few really freaky episodes..And can't say I've ever really heard her go on about "Vanquishing" anything !??!? After the first series it really picked up..same with Angel..can't see the same thing happening with "Demons" though...

The Radio Times hype piece, although written neutrally, showed me in detail that it was going to suck, and suck badly.
The word that sprang into mind as I was reading the article? "Bonekickers".
Bring on the next series of Ashes To Ashes - we need more Gene Hunt.

I wouldn't cry if I forgot it was on.
As a bit of a freak myself I found it quite offensive.....
