You might not like the dismissive one line review of it I put up on user reviews just yesterday then
Some very dismissive reviews for othergames too.
OT: For Cannon Bubble... 'Well presented, well-programmed tedium. Efficiently programmed Puzzle Bobble game that is, bar a bit of animation, an imagination free zone. The in-game music fits with the theme, well written but desperately bland. Cannon Bubble is a case of talented people who worked on an uninspired choice of project.
That said, there are many worse examples of games in this genre.' There are? Show me where on the Speccy? CB is fabulous!
As for the best 16k games... I voted for all of 'em on the list, bar Z-man for being the least inspiring, and Pinball (Saggitarian) which I don't think I've ever owned.
I actually really enjoyed Saggitarrian Pinball back in the day. It was one of my favorites... didn't even notice it is 16k game, which makes it even better in my book.
I wish I would of noticed multiple choice here, then I would of voted for more than just Death Chase :(
I never got the Tetris thing, just clearing screen after screen by lining up coloured shapes (usually in a small portion of the screen). Cannon Bubble is pretty much upside down Tetris. As I said there are 'stacks' of worse games from the genre - lots of slow basic games usually made for Pentagon or another clone. I'm afraid I can't remember all of the names of them but searching through East European authors and screenshots will point you towards a host of these.
I always had Harrier Attack down as a crap Scramble wannabe myself. Then again, I'd played Penetrator a fair bit first so I guess it's what you're used to.

either that or city bomber, but again I'm forced to say Harrier attack is 48k

So, erm, is it or isn't it? A lot of conflicting views over this. I haven't got a clue, just that the inlay says, 'For any Spectrum,' which I always took to mean, 16k as well. Would be interesting if it really is 48.
I voted Pool, as it was the one I played the most on Saturdays when I was working in my dads shop. Used to load the Spectrum up and play games between customers.
Comments
No, and it is quite popular with WoS voters. It was just outside the top 30 16k games that I tried to identify for the poll.
It's actually a 48K game; you might be confusing it with the ZX81 version.
The only Artic adventure that runs on a 16K Spectrum is Planet of Death.
Ah! So it is! Your right - it was the ZX81 version that I was thinking of.

Will do. Gimme a week or so, cuz I got a lot of catching up to do. I'll write some for other games on there if thats okay. :)
I think Harrier attack was the first 16k title I truly enjoyed. Totally love the PC sequel from Durell, too. Really captures the feel of the original.

I have it running in Spectaculator set to 16K, but as Chop says, SPIN rejects it.
In fact Spin rejects all my 16k games, then crashes. So I retract my previous statement.
details:
Spin set to 16k mode, games loaded from a zipped folder using insert tape option.

If you're talking 1K games, Turbomania would have to be up there.
1K on tape isn't necessarely 16K compatible.
Yep. I'm working on a 1K game that'll only work on the 128K Spectrum right now.
