In his defense he was asked for the link and his mistake was to post it here in public instead of PMing it over.
Not wishing to be hard on the guy, but it's not much of a defence was it, "a big boy made me do it."
While some the antics have been funny (but not always for the right reason) lets face it he must know the score by now.
Perhaps it wasn't just that one post that got him banned but some of the postings over the last couple of weeks?
Doing the same things time & time again is eventually going to cause the admins to take action. On most other boards I have used there would have been a lifetime ban quite some time ago.
Most of us have made mistakes on forums, cross posting, flame wars, posting something a bit too tasteless or whatever but we do learn from our mistakes reasonably quickly.
I know I have done wrong, should have known better not to post some dodgy link on a zx spectrum forum where kids and family could be surfing...
In my defence...I did use a disclaimer for the link, and urged people that it was....WELL bloody disgusting (It was old gay men porn folks!)
ahhh, come on...please...I really love this place, dont mean to sound all mushy and stuff but this is the 1st place I visit when I switch on my pc (yes!, not mongy lard pics!)

Ahhh ... well, maybe there is an expiration date, on that ban, closer to the near future than "for ever" ... let's see if Sam Cruise can behave and then perhaps his good old buddy rubberkeys might be let in again on his coattails ... but that's just my opinion and I'm not a mod.

You have to decide whether he tricked you / deceived you into clicking on the link.
He should have given warnings, sure. Hindsight again.
