Myst for iPhone

It was released a few days ago so (being the rabid Myst fan I am) I downloaded it immediately. It works really well and it's still as much fun as ever. Great value for ?5. :)

Is it a new one or the old one...in other words, if you solved the original there isn't a whole lot it has to offer?

Nope. It's a port of the original and doesn't include any extras from RealMyst. A pity really. I would have liked to explore Rime.

I always found games like Myst and The 7th Guest to look like exercises in saying "Wow! Look how much stuff we can put on a CD-ROM / DVD-ROM!" etc, basically technology demonstrators with a really, crushingly dull game. Now it seems like "Hey! Wow! Look how much data we can stuff into an iPhone!"

Of course, it could just be that the reason I think this is I find puzzle games just a tad tedious :-) (And riddles. I've resolved never to work for a place that asks riddles in job interviews. Unless they can take my silly answers in good humour, after all, we are supposed to show we're thinking outside the box).

I love the Myst games mainly because of the fictional history in the game. The story of the D'ni is really interesting and there's loads to it, in much the same way that Tolkien's Middle Earth mythology is.
