They did at one time, in something like 10 episode batches, that was years ago, and I never bothered trying.
Prisoner was sweet at first though I remember it used to just be on randomly just to fill any gaps in the latenight schedule. then slowly but surely it crept into tuesday night, then it was tuesday and thursday night. Then I'm sure it ended up being every night apart from friday and saturday.
It just seemed to go on forever.
Then when channel 5 started re-running it (not that long after ITV finished it running it, the last ever episode was awful but at least the freak finally got what was coming to her) I got to relive all those wonderous memories of mad Frankie the psychotic dyke, Dopey Doreen, and Vinegar tits
I too loved watchig this. It was great post pub viewing. I have a DVD box set of a few "best of" episodes, but taken out of the series, they don't really stand up too well. I'm not sure that a ?700 box set would be something that I'd buy though!

Yup I remember a really key episode in the story, I came back from the pub after drinking 9 pints of XB (my choice bar tipple back when I was about 16 or 17), I'd stopped at the chippy on the way home was really looking forward to it. Well I got home rammed the chips down my neck started watching Prisoner, next thing you know I'm filling my waste paper basket with half digested chips, and I wake up at 10 in the morning with a rancid hangover and the TV blaring something awful from ITV mornings like Friggin' Richard and Judy.
Still don't know what happened but I think Rita Conners and the the Freak were supposed to have some kind of showdown
My post-pub viewing was that Vietnam series, Tour of Duty, the one with 'paint it black' as the theme tune.
Plus used to love watching the Word when i got in and at one stage there was some dating show late on ITV with Claudia Winkleman which was very funny
Wasn't Tour of Duty on at about 3am on Saturdays?
The word was great, and that awful shit with Claudia Winkleman was called Pyjama Party, and also had that awful big gobbed yank from Manhattan Cable Katey Puckrik I think it was.
As you can tell I was a big fan of Trash TV when I was younger, mainly cos' I used to come home stoned out my box, and it was all that was on.
Hotel Babylon and the Girlie Show were fucking crap though.

Sure tour of duty was on about 12am or 1am, remember watching it a fair few times when i came in hammered, head spinning so decided i better not sleep and sit up and watch tv.
Prisoner Cell Block H, the word, tour of duty, good stuff ! Was it Pyjama Party ? Thought it was a late night 'blind date' type show on ITV about 1am after the word. The programs they had instead of the word were crap. Yeah the word was great trashy tv but for a drunk bloke at midnight it was essential viewing !
It was interesting seeing a couple of 'Neighbours' in Cell Block H like Harold Bishop.
Other late night shows I used to watch:
God's gift - Dating show with Davina McCall
Carnal knowledge - Quite rude sex quiz with Graham Norton and Maria McErlane
Get stuffed - Cookery programme for poor studios
The James Whale Radio Show - And the old guy who kept saying 'Donkey' as part of his stand up act. (Charlie Chuck - God bless Google)
Yup shite food sometimes it would almost be as bad as a cheese n' onion crisp sandwich.
But I did get some tips on onion Bhajis even though it was utter shite.

Sledgehammer - Comedy about unconventional police detective
In bed with me dinner - Bob Mills cynically talking about the world
I remember that, i like Bob Mills. Liked that gamesmaster program back on Sky in the early 90's, quite funny that was. Funny seeing David Walliams on that

Oh memories :D
The fights between Bea Smith and Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson were legendary
Of course, 'Vinegar Tits' used to be a great character as well
You could even see the studio sets actually wobble at times  Were the walls actually made of cardboard?
I think it was plasterboard coated with brick patterned formica :D
I wouln't have anything to do with lardy women with huge knockers woud it?
i was thinking the same thing.

Well it was awful, but it was worth unzipping every time he had Sex on Legs in the studio I'll sure you'll agree
Great shout ! Remember get stuffed !
That's one of those moments you generally keep to yourself.
But I'm gonna raise you on that one.
First time I fingered a girl she was ginger
What colour was she the second time ?
I never fingered her again, so I can't answer that one
only if you are the pope.
What happend afterwards?? Turned white with fear?
I did when I sobered up, her gash looked like a stab wound
Never say never. You should keep the option open. Perhaps one day you will come back to this thread and edit your response to read 'grey actually'.
That's more than just an afternoons viewing
That's 543 hours, making approximately 1086 episodes
Sledgehammer - Comedy about unconventional police detective
In bed with me dinner - Bob Mills cynically talking about the world

yeah in bed wi me dinner was great although the title confussed me at first.
i like the starting credits and the way the set/his flat always changed in the series. proper class, a bit like a low budget version of TV burp.
another i remember was a film review show but with a could of manky guys in a video shop.
