Glowing Monkeys.

edited May 2009 in Chit chat
Scientists in Japan have genetically engenered monkey embrios to make monkeys glow in the dark. As a result these Monkeys have a recesive glow in the dark gene that they can pass on to their children.

They Justify doing this by saying, if its possible to modify the gene pool in this way, then its possible to modify peoples genes so they are not susceptible to illneses such as Parkinsons or Cancer.

A bloke I used to work with got drunk and drank the contents of a lava lamp.

He didn't glow or float around like an egg yoke, but he did end up in hospital.

Rather than messing around with monkeys, the Japanese should genetically increase their libido, considering their rapidly overaging society. Maybe they should import a few chavs from Europe with their high teenage pregnancy rates ... but they would rather manufacture robots to use as a workforce than let immigrants dilute their "homogenous" race.

I remember watching some program about genetically modified animals and ones that have been deliberately cross bred for generations a few years back. They extracted some genetic information from jellyfish to make rabbits glow in the dark. Apparently that will be useful for scientists. Wow really. I wish they'd make the ones across the road from me glow in the dark too. It would make it easier to see them at night-time so I can run them over in my car, or shoot them if I had a gun. Bloody pests.
