Scientology thread closed!
Martijn,
I'm quite disappointed. I don't think anyone felt attacked. I certainly didn't, it was a good thread (albeit it did get off-topic a lot)
If you want things to be Speccy, or you'll close threads, why not close everything in the chit chat section?

I don't mind that it was closed.
And though it was nearing certain limits, it hadn't really crossed any lines yet ... In My Opinion.
One thing that always amazes me though is that there are non-theists out there who are equally as crazy in their opinions (and the way they package their opinions) just as the most extreme of Bible[or insert choice of religious material here]-Thumpers.
I am not judging any of the WoSsers who participated in the thread ... I love you all equally ... you terdnuts! ;-)
I have nothing against religion(s) or people's faith. I just don't care too much when it's one extreme on either ends. That's when it gets bloody and both the most extreme of Thumpers and Anti-Thumpers clash. That's when people blame the Bible(Coran, etc) for all the wrongs in the world when it's not the message but the Abusers of their Interpretations of the Message(s) who are to blame.
It's probably the only case where the saying "Don't kill the messenger" meets it's antithesis "Get rid of the messenger, not the message" ... The Abusers are not righteous but the message might be.

It's times like that you have to ask yourself...
What Would Grizzly Do?
Probably go "Stop bickering you basts! Some of us are trying to hibernate!"
But then again ... it's just a woolen jumper really ... right?
D.
I rest my case.
You have offended my family, and you have offended the Shaolin Temple.
You sound just like my wife !
Well, for my part I joined that thread to share the fun banter. It was friendly and lively for the bit I read and responded to and even touched on retro computers briefly. I enjoyed the topic a lot more than the threads about long running TV series as these are not my interest.
I'm glad that you started this thread as I wanted to reply to your last post, as I was very pleased you took my last joke in the 'spirit' intended and I couldn't say so after the lock out.
That said, the thread had probably exhausted itself and Martijn was not far out in calling time on it, like a bored pub landlord presiding over contented drunks before they slip up, sending us all home happy enough. With his lock he spared the chat from a lot of repeat and recycle.
Sorry ... I don't get it. Please explain. :-)
WWJD = What would Jesus do.
Well, he certainly wouldn't go into the Ladies toilets, would he...
I know about the WWJD thing but I just don't get the "joke" ... I would assume Jesus would use the gents so I'm not "getting it" ... haylp!?
It looks like it is a female who needs to use the WC ... so why would her armband cause her to think twice about which toilet to use?
This kind of tickled me ;)
My sincerest of least apologies. I shall henceforth try and refrain from calling you, in particular, a terdnut ... you buttwart!
Hugs?
"This" being???
Ahhh, now it's up ...
Hmmm the way I saw that toilet joke was...Jesus would not know which door to go in...he was a man but also wore a dress...
/runs
Back then many, if not all, wore "dresses" ... equality of the sexes and all that.
Just covering as many bases as I can think of, i.e not many
Could he not just have reverted to his sense of smell?
Stale urine....gents
Sweet lavender surprise ...ladies.
And the female in the comic was unable to use her nose?
He nose was full of the perfume she was wearing making smellums identification impossible.
Ha ha! Missed that the first time around
Well... She wants to pee. Her wrist band reminds her to do what jesus would do - it's a common method that religious nutters use to decide what to do in any given situation.
Jesus would use the Gents. But she has to use the ladies. So she has to do what Jesus would not/i] do, which is a religious moral dilemma of gargantuan proportions - would you really want to do the opposite of what jesus would do?
D.
Yikes! That's even more far fetched than I would have taken it.
But it makes humorous sense now that you've explained it, thankyeverymushly.
That's what she said!
Hehe.
