There is a guy on youtube who does some nice speccie vids. He has been doing Kong games of late and I suggested he uploaded one of C*Tech Kong but the TZX file is broken, any ideas where he can get this piece of dross from?:roll:
Not immediately, my friend is going away for two weeks but after that I should be able to borrow it; but besides, getting it uploaded to WOS is a different matter and you'll have to wait until the next TZX update.
I can send you the TZX in email when it's done, though.
Thanks but when I try to view this I get a menu screen telling me to enter KK16 or 48 and then nothing.
Any tips?
And yes, if I remember, the game reeked to high heaven!
yes if you are emulating on a 16k machine enter "KK16" and "KK48" for a 48k game but make sure it is in capitals (caps shift+2) as the game won't detect the small case keys a,s,d,z,x then PRESS PLAY ON THE TAPE You need to do this about four times PRESS PLAY
"A" = jump left
"S" = jump up ladder (you wont get past the first ladder)
"D" = jump right
"Z" = move left
"X" = move right
"R" = Restart
remember the game must be in CAPS LOCK (shift+2) and to see the truly honorific game type "KK16" then play on the tape recorder it loads about four times so if the game seams to stop press play on the tape
step two
get Spin...(well any emu should do but this guide is using Spin)
step three
open Spin and set to 48K model
step 4
open file and load "Kong"
step 5
type LOAD "" (j on keyboard + CTRL p) <press enter> and start the tape
the first part loads
and this is what you should see
now press <enter>
you now see this
now the instuctions say type kk16 or kk48 even they are missleading because they should be in CAPITALS so to play the 48k game we have to put the spectrum in caps lock (it needs this to read the keys later)
to do this you must press shift+2 and the spectrum curser should change to a "C" instead of "L" <see pic>
now type KK48 in the speech marks ""
press <enter> and start the tape
and the first screen loads
you then get a green screen
ok now press <enter>
you now get a fantastic show of hi-res graphics and a monkey moves about at the top of the screen WOW
after this it then loads a bit more....
Comments
Anyway of getting the file onto WoS?
:smile:
I can send you the TZX in email when it's done, though.
