I'm sorry, iced tea is an abombination. Tea must be hot, made with boiling - not boiled - water, and for anything other than Earl Grey, must have milk. Iced tea is ... uncivilized.

When I was in the States recently I found some brands quite tasty, some undrinkable. Needs sugar, and some bottled variety didn't have that!

Cresta pop was great and unique. The original stuff not the revised version you can get now.

The thing I hate about artificial sweetners is how they found there way into most pop that is availble now, (due to it being a lot cheaper than sugar). Its impossible to find a good cherryade or limeade, and even strugge to find a lemonade without.

Does anyone remember a soft drink that appeared in the early or mid 90's called 'Liptonice' (im sure that spelling is wrong). It was an iced tea flavoured soft drink, it was actually quite nice but seems to have vanished.

Lipton Ice ... still exists here in the States. You can get the powdered stuff in large tins. I prefer the peach-flavoured one ... in other news, I absolutely hate ice tea ... and tea.

I've seen the Lipton Ice drink in plastic bottles too but not canned.

Just got this sent in an e-mail. Don't know if it's true or not so I'd like to hear your Expert WoS-Opining on it.

""Aspartame contains METHANOL, a serious metabolic poison. Your body converts it to formaldehyde (embalming fluid) and formic acid (ant sting poison) both of which attack your central nervous system and every organ of your body.""

    It's what the oracle says:

I think it's meant to be a piss take of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre".

This is better (outakes from the DVD series 2)...

    EDIT - maybe not.

    Wahey! Thanks :-)

I will stick to staying away from fakey sweeteners ... doesn't matter whether they're legal/illegal/healthy/carcinogenic ... they just don't taste right. At least I've not found one kind I like so far.

    Must be right it's wikipedia

Many many food products (natural & processed) either contain or break down into those chemicals mentioned, it's like all the moaning about HFC syrup.
