Crime Busters is a good simple game. All you have to do is steal stuff from a house via trampolines while avoiding the police, ghosts and assorted nasties. Simple but great fun with some nice graphics.
Right, that's the one I mistakenly mentioned as Bennie the Burglar. Anyway, Bennie is the main character of the game.
Ah, shame - from the screenshot in the Infoseek entry for Dustin, at first glance I thought it was a conversion of "Eden Blues", a French game released for a few platforms but not the Speccy (probably as the Speccy was hardly famous there) ... I liked that game back in the day on the CPC. You were locked up in a prison guarded by androids and had to escape. Weird atmosphere and extremely difficult, never got very far in it.
streaker - he technically is breaking the law. you can't just say thieves stole all my clothes, that just won't wash these days. he'd prolly be put on a register too.
You turned out to still be the good guys in that game though.
I was just thinking that... pretty nasty good guys though, what with all the thieving and knocking out guards (at least I'm pretty sure you could hit 'em).

well its a rpetty grey area. someone mentioned hudson hawk, yeah he would have got locked up for his crimes but he was geting forced to commit the crimes, and in the end he ended up saving the world, so maybe he would be pardoned.
i saw in a ninty mag ages ago, a spread about the legality of characters in games. they had a judge give a verdict on the crimes or non crimes commited.
someone should do that for speccy games, maybe as a poll, so you'd have two sides of the argument, a case for and a case against, then a public vote. :)

Hehe, maybe then just give him a few hours community service and a ?50 fine or something!!
What about Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles: Coin-Op? Not sure if it happens in the Speccy version, but in the NES version there's a bit on level 2 where you can score a bonus point for smacking the innocent girl on the skateboard!! Not very heroic, is it? I never understood that bit... maybe the Turtles didn't mix well with other skater types, or maybe they were jealous of her skills... or something!!

Since we are allowing "technically breaking the law" games as opposed to just "career criminal" games, then we may as well add M4.
Of course it is illegal for pedestrians to walk on a motorway.
If only I had this book "Games for Your ZX Spectrum" whch contains a few of these humourous game listings, I'd like to read the accompanying text, there must be a backstory in there somewhere. :D

Another game where you play as a thief is Goody.
He was always robbing stuff from the junk yard.
Elite - trading in slaves and narcotics
Elite - Being chased by the cops.
Hudson Hawk was a thief too!
