Text Adventure Dizzy

edited August 2009 in Games
Just something I came up with based on a popular game.

You are on the beach. You can go west. Nearby, you can see a chest.

> TAKE CHEST.

You take the chest.

> WEST

You are on the farmost side of the beach. You can go east or up.

> UP

You can't go up.

> DROP CHEST

You drop the chest in front of the mountain.

> UP

You are on top of the cliff. You can go west or down.

> WEST

You are standing in the middle of a bridge. You can continue to go west or go back east.

Most arcade adventures would work as text adventure, and the other way round...

Anyone up for doing the hobbit?

I'm glad I'm not the only one to have had that thought!

It was just something I came up with for a laugh and was tempted to code it in GAC and present it as a gag game..

But I might seriously consider coding it if there is sufficent intrest in a text adventure Dizzy game.

Slight problem being that people will already know the solution :)

It'd be an interesting experiment though

As I said, it was an idea for a joke.. but if you think the idea has merit, it'll be worth a try.

i think if you jammed them all together in a story it might be good.

treasure island would prolly be the best though if you were donig them seperatly. you'd have to use the same screen shots too. :)

I'll surprise you guys. A text Dizzy game does exist :) It's in Russian however.

I'm watching Russian Spectrum forums and remember my dissapointment when I have learnt that a new Dizzy game appeared, only to discover a moment later that it is all text

Well, Treasure Island Text Adventure Dizzy would be in English.

The graphics would all be different - I'd get my niece to do them - she's quite good and recently got high marks in her (I think it was) graphic design exams.

Got an e-mail from Blitz Games giving 'unofficial' blessing to the game as long as no money is being made and there is nothing deemed offensive in it..

I contacted them and Codemasters to enquire about permission to make the game as a no money venture. Codemasters were unable to and neither were Blitz, but as I said, they gave their unofficial blessing to it.

I'm going to storyboard the game and work on the room descriptions and either once I get a new laptop (I'm using my niece's right now) or my Apple Mac set up (just waiting for a OS X 10.4.9 disc to arrive), I can do a draft.
