Lo Profile Speccy 48 keyboard for sale on Fleabay

edited August 2009 in Sales
Hi I just thought I'd give people a heads-up that I am going to list a boxed and unused Lo Profile keyboard on Fleabay.

I just opened the box and wow that smell is just totally 80's 8-bit :D Probably carcinogenic but it takes me back to 1982 :D I think the smell is from the vaccuum formed plastic base, as it seems to jog memories of design technology classes from school.

Hang on I'm just going to get another whiff :)

The keyboard has an *excellent* action. Very solid and clicky and seems to have keyboard switches and not rubber pads judging by the action.

I used to have a Saga 1 Emperor, and though the Saga did indeed look very nice and I was well happy with it, I would say that the action on this Lo Profile does beat the Saga by a fairly wide margin :)

The box is in great condition with minor wear.

I'm selling most of my vintage computer collection, but keeping my 48K speccy, ZX81, ST and Amiga for sentimental reasons. Um, and maybe the Beeb cos it plays Elite :D

Just before I go I'll blow my own trumpet again :D I was (am?) one half of the duo who formed Bandit Video Games, who together with that computer maestro Mr David Harper, wrote the totally stunning adventure game "Dusk Over Elfinton"

Now where's that voting form so I can pretend my game is more popular than it really is?

And, curse you! C&VG for giving us such a short, average review, when the independent Adventure game fanzines gave us such good reviews. And we only sold it for ?2.95 too, considering the care we lavished on the game's development.

Humph.

Aaaaand they spelt the address wrong too! Or was that Sinclair User? Ok, it was a bit Welsh. But, DANG! the C&VG reviewers should be shot. :)

Update: I've done the listing and it's due to go live today (Thursday 13th August) at 21:30pm. 99p start cos I'm living dangerously.

Always wanted to have one of those, but can't bid on it right now. Good luck with the auction and thanks for your contribution to the Sinclair world. :)

Wow for ?28.95 that keyboard was an absolute steal when new :) Apparently the original price was ?49.95. Perhaps companies ended up clearing these at the lower price when AMS went out of business?

Talking of after-market keyboards for the speccy....Back in the day, I ordered a ?50 Fuller keyboard direct from Fuller. They went belly up and stole my dad's money, leaving me very disappointed. I say stole, as my dad had made many telephone calls to Fuller in the months before they folded, and they kept telling us that it wouldn't be long, it was in the post etc. So they kept our money knowing full well they were going to fold and couldn't honour the sale.

For those interested, the listing ID of my Lo Profile keyboard on Fleabay is 330351925398

    :D thanks all!
