very strange clouds tonight
I stepped out earlier at about 1am for a cig, and there was no wind at all, calm enough for the flame from my lighter to not even flicker, yet the clouds were the lowest I have ever seen clouds, very thick cover, and racing across the sky faster than I have ever seen clouds move before. the weirdest thing was in the gaps in the clouds going by, you could see the next layer of clouds - that can't have been more than a couple of hundred feet above them - not moving at all! full moon as well so it was quite a bizarre sight. this went on for a good couple of hours. there's just normal dense cloud cover now, barely moving. any budding meteorologists here care to explain this one? was pretty interesting.

Windshear has claimed its fair share of airliners. (Smaller planes typically cope with it better, less inertia, and engines that respond faster).
Bah..scientific mumbo jumbo.
Sounds like it was eerie weather.
It's been storming here for the last 3 days, oop there goes some thunder now!
....and the forcast for tonight is, eerie weather throughout the northeast followed by a spooky fog in the morning, clearing up for a jolly bit of sun.
Yeah, but it would still be the wrong forecast ;)
Erm? Come again?

maybe the cat was perched on the end of a broomstick, and by walking, he meant 'flying'...it was perfect conditions for it.
