Anyone have the 720 Degrees arcade soundtrack tape?

edited January 2010 in Sinclair Miscellaneous
Fancy recording it and uploading it somewhere? I'm working on something for later this year[1] and would find a very nice place for it!

[1] Nope, not the Xmas Special[2].
[2] Work on that continues once I've finished a lot of the work[5] on this[3]
[3] Which will be done by Easter[4].
[4] Hopefully.
[5] Before moving onto finishing the Xmas Special and then 1990[4] before putting the finishing touches on it just before releasing it.

If you mean the C&VG cover tape with OutRun on the other side then, yes, somewhere. It's still copyrighted so I'm not keen on uploading it, but if I can find it I'd be happy to send it to you. How soon do you need it?

WOS already hosts the OutRun soundtrack, plus other arcade soundtracks, so nothing to worry about on that score. I'll need to upload it somewhere anyway for my purposes.

Any time in the next month or two is fine by me - really any time in the next six months to be honest!

Oh, I remember that tape. I practically wore mine out listening to it. I couldn't believe (at the time) that it was actually music from a computer game! :)

Aye - I wore mine down within two weeks, even going so far as buying a second C&VG to replace it.

And wearing that one out too.

    Bugger.

But I'm sure the full-price version of 720 had either the music on the B-side or on a separate tape.

Might well have it - got a lot of those cover tapes lying around...

That would do the trick quite nicely if you still have it!

The 720 game did have such a tape

Excellent - many thanks for the replies, will revisit this in a few weeks time as I've just written a feature on 720 for the site[1] and the soundtrack would be a wonderful accompaniment to it. If I go anything by the vibes I'm getting right now listening to the OutRun MP3, then it should go down really well with others too.

[1] To be uploaded later this year

On the other hand, if you're driving across the causeway to Portland in the dark, and your Sat-Nav is showing the road in 3-D with blue patches scrolling by either side, you really, really wish you could have 'Magical Sound Shower' playing. I have it on my phone somewhere, so will have to arrange for someone to call me at the right time. In fact, I now want an 'Outrun' themed Sat-Nav, with trees and windsurfers alongside all the roads.

If you want the tracks in higher quality, you can use the M1 sound emulator:

    http://rbelmont.mameworld.info/m1078a10-w32.zip

This will let you listen to any track (in full) from the arcade version. You'll need the arcade rom though. Use the BridgeM1 front-end in conjunction with M1 for a better interface:

    *bump*

Now sorted - 720zone.com has the original soundtracks as MP3 files which I can edit together in the order which I think the 720 music tape played them in at.

Hmm, I can't seem to recreate the soundtrack to my liking - anyone got an original full-price 720 tape to hand?

Good. I did have a dig around at Easter but was unable to find the tape, and then it slipped my mind. Sorry about that.

Does anyone know who was the author of the music of this B-side soundtrack?
