    Yes, yes it is.
With the credits "adjusted". Thus a crack. That has to go.

    Gone.

Does this mean the Harry S. Price games and the Russian patched versions are out as well?

The Russian patched versions should be out (are you saying I overlooked some?), Mr Price's handiwork is retained as they were commercial releases even making the magazines.

Not saying you missed any. It's just that Elite III is clearly a crack. But on the other hand it does add things to the game and is worth preserving. I'd also argue for preserving the Harry S. Price games, not because they were commercial, but because they illustrate what was going on in the industry at the time. There are also the hacked versions of commercial software that were used in-house at various software companies. These would be worth preserving if copies were available. I guess my point is, it's hard to know where to draw the line. If the Pogo copy was just a case of changing the names then it definitely didn't deserve to be there. On the other hand I've created a version of Starion with the bug-fix and a loading screen. Perhaps that would be worth including?

Yes, it isn't always clear what to keep and what not.
Generally, if credits get changed or the updated version just adds a bit of music (most cracks), I don't add them.

That reminded me: I still had to give Mr Price his middle initial (done).

Yes, although we already have the patched version in the archive, fixing what is currently listed in the Known Errors entry for the game, provided by Jim.
Clean patches are kept (and tagged), if only because they're the only version one can actually complete. :-)
