    Dinner at

    1) Someone elses house
    2) Relatives visiting

Can be such a pain in the arse, I have had so far (RE: Point 2) one parent being sick quite loudly, a sibling turning up dressed like they are on their way to a tarts and vicars, a long since relative pushing around the food welling saying toast would have done.

(RE: Point 1) Going to a family members house for them to lay everything out perfect only for the food to be so dire it was shocking, and having to eat it as to not to upset them.

The best Chrimbo dinner I have had was last year, all my kids are now at the age to enjoy it (5,6,11) and to be able to left to play as you prepare. Everyone go it to the spirit and I even wore a paper hat (there are no pictures).

As for the Sopranos I never ever watched it. My thing is if it has not space ships, time travel( or just recently added) Polar Bears in the Jungle, I don't really watch it. For I am a nerd. 6ft 2 nerd btw built like a Viking so bear that in mind name callers.

    :p

    :p

    with point 1 -

I had a nightmare a few years ago , went for xmas dinner at a relatives house , xmas dinner is sacred to me (as it probably is to a lot of people or am i crazy) , i love it. When i got there , theres no real festive spirit , just a tree and a few cards , the tables set as any other meal , just placemats and knives / forks etc

Everyone sits down for dinner and (again maybe its me being odd) but the lady brings out two cooked chickens and a stack of boiled spuds .

    I like turkey , cranberry , roasties , parsnips , carrots , gravy , stuffing , carols playing , crackers etc etc

Not a hairy chicken leg with a few boiled spuds.

I was warned " not to moan or kick up a fuss " , i was proper pissed off , so i went out the day after boxing day , bought all the correct stuff for a decent dinner and did one myself , complete with crackers , hats , table dressing , turkey etc .

You've got me thinking about Xmas dinner now... the last couple have been gammon joints, roasted veggies and potatoes. Dunno what to go for this year...
  • edited October 2009
Wifey last year did herself proud, normally it is just us both cooking a massive turkey and all the gubbins. However last year wifey did a Christmas ham.

I hope to hell she does one again or it will be Den and Angie all over again.

How about gammon joints, roasted veggies and potatoes? Just a suggestion!

I'm having a Pot Noodle (Bombay Bad Boy)!

This year weve ordered a turkey crown laced with bacon and for the 1st time ever a boneless leg of lamb so we can have a bit of both , never ever had lamb for xmas dins before.

    Bleugh!

Chicken and Mushroom all the way. However wifey might get cross if I dish out the Potted Snack out to her and the kiddies on the day of the Birth of our lord, Father Christmas.

    <- Would be wifey.

I do like Lost and have seen each one but i would never want to watch it again. Some very good episodes but a fair few dull ones or confusing ones

Yes, when you see the whole series, Lost loses its charm... most people want to reach the final just to know the truth, the mistery, who in the hell is Jacob, the f*ck*ed numbers, etc... from this point of view, the series is excellent, makes you get hooked, but I think I won't watch it again nor have in my DVD shelves.
