Ultimate & Automata collections + others

edited October 2009 in Sales
I've decided that I might sell my Ultimate and Automata collections. I have a handful of other titles too that I'll sell. PM me with serious offers. I will only sell games in bundles, I will not split.

Youll be lucky to sell anything on here !
  • edited October 2009
Why's that? I've sold loads of stuff here over the years.

    @Viceroy

I am sure he will sell those games no problem on here as the collection is very much wanted. Please can you keep your comments like that to yourself as this person is trying to sell something.

    Thanks

I get the impression he was being sarcastic.

If he wasn't, then he couldn't be more wrong!!! :D

Nice Ultimate collection but would prefer to buy mine off ebay. If the seller hasnt even got a price in mind then theyre obviously testing the waters to see if someone offers them something crazy.

Just in the past a fair few people seem to rate their collection higher than its really worth.

Weird comment by Viceroy though, a fair few things sell here.

Conversely, it would take a lot of time, money and effort to acquire all this stuff on ebay, so people selling aren't likely wanting to give it away for pennies. I know exactly how much some of these items sell for on ebay when in good condition (as seen here). Some of the Automata tapes in particular sell for ?20 to ?30 a pop on the rare occasions they appear. Anybody selling is obviously going to want to obtain the best price. Ebay might be an attractive prospect for buyers, but it's a very unattractive one for sellers these days. The fees are outrageous.

After your ahem - " sale of rom carts " last time , i don't think ill bother with this .
  • edited October 2009
Those carts are still for sale if anyone is interested. Also, can people stop spamming my sales thread? If you're not interested in buying, then don't post. Cheers.

Thats not spam - that usually involves selling some dodgy unknown product on the back of your post , it would be nice if you had even the courtesy to reply to pm's about your " sales ".

Looks to me like someone just " showing off " their collection with no intention of selling , unless some mug offers you way too much for them.

Anyway good luck , as they say on Dragons Den - Im out.

All you've done is clog-up my sales thread with petty remarks. Nobody gives a toss if you're not interested in making an offer. I want to sell this stuff, but I sure as hell aren't giving it away for pennies. If you're not even willing to make any offers for these bundles, then there is no real reason why you should be posting in this thread.

Also, I apologise if I forgot to reply to your PM. I received a lot of offers and possibly missed replying to some people. And for your information, your offer was well below the highest offer I received.

Also, can people stop thinking they have some sort of ownership over threads they create? If you're not interested in having a discussion, then don't use the forum: use your own website. Cheers.

There's a difference between having a discussion and deliberately shitting in peoples sales threads.
  • edited October 2009
Im not shitting in your thread or clogging it up (two comments in a thread hardly does that) , im just pointing out that you aren't selling anything - your kinda touting really , and how do you know if people do or dont give a toss , maybe you dont , but im sure others would like to know how you operate , they can then make their minds up as to whether your'e decent to deal with , i haven't said you are or your aren't , just that you have had threads before offering items and then decided to keep the goods .

Also if my offer was below what your'e best offer was , just let me know then i don't hang around waiting.

Why don't you just do what others do on here - price your items up and see if anyone is interested , you'll soon find out that people on here aren't mugs when it comes to buying or selling.

    Be fair.

Posting in someone elses sales thread stating that you have no intention of making an offer? Seriously, do you think anyone is interested to learn that you have no interest in putting-in a offer? Nobody gives a toss that you have no intention of making an offer. Your sole intention of posting in this thread is to spoil the prospects of my sales with your negative input. I have 10 years worth of 100% positive ebay feedback for prospective buyers to look at if trustworthyness is ever an issue.

Incorrect. 'Thread' not 'threads'. I've only had one thread previously where I've decided not to sell in the end. I've also had numerous other sales threads on here where loads of other items have been sold to the satisfaction of the buyers.

The conditions of the sales of these items are clearly stated in the first post. If you don't like those conditions, then don't make an offer. Simple as really.

Get over it , if i post the fact that you don't take time to reply to offers thats the truth and a fair comment .

When you say " Nobody gives a toss that you have no intention of making an offer. Your sole intention of posting in this thread is to spoil the prospects of my sales with your negative input " then that is just an assumption by you and factualy incorrect . You can't possibly assume that people wouldn't like to know information relative to the possible purchase of an item from you.

Im perfectly allowed to post in anyones thread if i like , how can i ruin your ahem " sales " thread by making comments that are true , you keep responding to my posts , so ill answer your comments , isn't that fair ?

Anyway if you read my 2nd post in this thread i wished you luck , hardly the remark of someone who doesn't want you to do well.

I still stand by that and hope you find a suitable buyer for your games.

Seriously, anybody coming into a sales thread essentially stating "I have no intention of buying these items" is practically trolling. It wouldn't be tolerated on any of the other forums I post on that have sales sections.
  • edited October 2009
Its the conditions in the first post that mean I wont be making an offer. Although I would make a reasonable offer i'm only looking at one of the games and the bundles are no use at all to me.

I would suspect that anybody who collects either Ultimate or Automata would be in a similar position any that really means your looking for a new collector who may well make a silly offer and the best of luck if that's the case.

Sometimes collectors have to bite the bullet and buy a batch of items to get the item they need. Any spare items can then be sold off. Unfortunately I don't have the time to sell all this stuff off individually

I'm not looking for silly offers. I'm looking for offers based on what people think the items are worth.

Wrong Wrong Wrong , anyone can make a comment or suggestion without actually purchasing an item.

As adjb says above , who is going to actually buy all those ultimate games in one shot as you won't split them, i'd bet a fair percentage of collectors on here have at least a good selection of most of the games you are hawking around.

Thats two people who haven't made offers , but wish you luck , take the hint , sell your stuff and stop accusing people of trolling or shitting in your thread .

You're not even bothering to read my posts properly now. You're just trolling. In my last post I stated that what you're doing wouldn't be tolerated on any other forum, which is absolutey true.

What are you prattling on about , youv'e been wished well in your sale , comments regarding your sale practices , your items , the price or lack of it are perfectly legitimate things to reply about in this thread .

Why do you keep accusing me of things which you have no reason to , i tell you one thing , your quicker to reply to this thread than your private messages.

Your first post in this thread. So what, I decided previously on one occasion (out of many) that I didn't want to sell that particular bundle. At no point did I say the sale of the items was a certainty. Nobody was led astray. Yes, I forgot to reply to your PM (which I've apologised for), but you will have seen the reply to the original thread shortly after you sent your PM where I basically stated that I was no longer selling the items, so it's not like you never found out. Basically, you were trolling with that first post.

I wasn't bothered that you didn't sell them , just you're lack of courtesy in not letting me know , have you read my message to you , i have just re-read it just to make sure it wasn't discourtious or misleading , i actually asked you if my offer of ?300 was miles away to let me know (which you didn't) , so my post was to say i wasn't interested in this sale , that is a response to your sale , not " trolling " at all , im still well within any rights to post in this thread , you do not own it .

Now thats not true at all

I sent you the offer on the 18th July , YOU responded on the thread on the 29th July , how the hell is that letting me know shortly after on the thread itself .

That is fact , stonewall fact , don't say that you let me know via the thread shortly after my offer , 11 days !!! hardly quick on the draw is it.
  • edited October 2009
11 Days isn't long in my book. What if I'd been on holiday or something for 2 weeks? The fact is, you eventually found out after your offer that the items were no longer on sale. Certainly long before this new thread was created. It's not like you were left dangling indefinitely.
  • edited October 2009
11 days is piss poor in my book and not " shortly " , and thats another reason i won't be offering for your games on here this time.

But again - good luck with the sale .

You're rattling on about something I already apologised for in the original thread on the 29th July:

Like I said, you're just trolling. I've notified Martijn. Hopefully he can clean-up this mess.

What mess ? you didn't apologise , you left everyone hanging on for 11 days for items you weren't even prepared to sell , its not trolling , i just said i wasn't going to go through all that waiting again.

You haven't put any prices up against your items , what kind of money are you looking for ?

or will you just wait and ponder for a few weeks just on the off chance you get an amazing offer ?

The mess that you've turned this thread into. You've basically hijacked the thread.

Wrong. I did apologize in the original thread on the 29th July:

Wrong again. You were the only person who PMd me in those 11 days and who I had not replied to, hence the apology in the original thread on the 29th July.
    sirclive1 wrote: »

I haven't asked for an 'amazing offer' I've just asked that people interested in buying should PM me with what they think the items are worth to them.
