Tomahawk lenslok

edited October 2009 in Wanted
Anyone got a spare lenslok for Digital integration's Tomahawk? I have two copies of this tape but both without the lenslok.

Well if anyone does I am going to be in Manchester in 4 weeks visiting my family so PM me if you could stick it in an envelope and send it to their house, I can paypal a quid for your trouble if you like.

Yeah I'll do ebay I guess if no one has a freebee....don't really need another cassette. Figured I would try here first in case someone had one they could stick in an envelope for the price of a stamp etc.

I've got one you can have. PM me the address and I'll post it. It's no use to me as I can only ever see garbage through those abominable devices.

Probably a daft question, but both tapes do need the lenslok do they? If the cassette mentions 48k/128k on it then that was the version with lenslok removed ('cos it didn't work on the 128k machine in 48k mode).

I looked on the WOS site, there is the code sheet for the game also

    ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sinclair/games-extras/Tomahawk_DiskVersion-CodeSheet.txt

    the re-release doesn't use it.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who didn't get on so well with lenslok

Maybe their is a type in hack you can load in before the game to bypass the lenslock protection or maybe a Wosser can write one for fog if nobody can get him a lenslock?

If I recall 48k version refused to load on my Speccy 128k toastrack... Dunno if that was to do with 128k ROM, or chewy (my infamous Dixon's branded tape deck, that my parents bought me from the very same store in 1986) - I can remember I went through three Dixon's tape decks back in year of 1986 - Chewy loved eating Spectrum cassettes, and I would spend an evening trying to salvage my tape after it had wrapped around the tape capstands of my tape deck, then punching the shit out of the tape deck afterwards...

    Fukin Chewy chewed another cassette!

    LOL !

    :-D

I had a fergison tape deck which was awful as well, I remember it REALLY hated US gold loaders , bruce lee / zaxxon / spy hunter were a bar steward to load.

I did try loading something up on the +3 but no joy via the tape deck. I might try another unit, but well I have divide, so I'm not overly bothered for the time being .
