Wafadrive wafers

edited November 2009 in Wanted
If anyone has any spare wafadrive wafers, that would be nice :)

I know you can get them from Sintech, but shipping to the UK costs more than the things themselves :p

    Yep dataserve retro do them...

The problem with Wafa's (as with microdrive cartridges), is the tape gets stretched over time so they become increasingly unreliable. You'd be better off with a Disciple disk interface, but if you keen on the wafadrive...

I've got two drives, and used to have loads of wafas, but one of the drives was very good at shredding the tape to bits. Now I'm too scared to use them... Which one is the killer drive? They both look the same! Pity, as it's a natty device. Perhaps I too need to get more wafas so I can see which drive needs to go the dustman.

I discovered that with mine when the previous owner gave it to me - 4 of the 5 tapes he had snapped instantly on use, the remaining one seems to work fine (although it was stored in an attic) but has stretched awfully from 64kb to 80kb...

I don't have any wafers, but I have a spare manual if anyone needs one.

I loved my Wafadrive. Never knew what happened to it.
Had a handful of wafers with it but they were badly stretched by the end.

Loved the fact that I could open a stream file to it and write the compile output from my MicroSource assembler straight out to it.

SINTECH has already a UK-office for more than 1 year. You just pay postage within UK...
