I saw a bit of Never the Twain quite recently. Time has not been kind to it.
Wasn't there an advert recently with an aged Max Headroom in it (still played by Matt Frewer).

And yeah - Home To Roost has aged badly too.

does anyone remember a scary kids show about statues that came to life?
It was a 6-part adaptation of an E. Nesbit story, 'The Enchanted Castle', shown in 1979. Try as you might, you won't find a copy. One of those classic BBC mini-serials that has been released though is 'The Box of Delights', the one with the amazing haunting medley of 'The First Noel' at the start.

I remember that. Well, the name anyway. I might try and get that.
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

Wasn't The Box of Delights the one that ended up with the lad having dreamt it all - real cop out literary ending, that?!

One programme I'd like to see again is Common As Muck - with the late Edward Woodward. That was ace!

    Scotch and Wry!

Rev I M Jolly at hogmany was a tradition. I'm too young to remember the original series', but I always watched the Hogmany shows from the mid 80s onwards.

    I M Jolly was a classic!
The best one was when he drank some vodka instead of water one night and got drunk during his speech! It was brilliant!

I really enjoyed "Kelly Monteith", and me and my brother went to see him live at Derby Assembly Rooms, and he was just as good. Must have been the early 80's.

The thing is for the last 30 odd years I always thought he was a famous american comedian, who came over here and did a few series'. But I have just looked on Wikipedia and he only warrents 5 lines:-

    Mike Leigh's "Nuts In May" (1976) 1h 20m.
Broadcast as part of the BBC's Play for Today series. It is the comical story of a nature-loving and rather self-righteous couple's exhausting battle to enjoy what they perceive to be the idyllic camping holiday. Misunderstandings, awkward clashes of values and, inevitably, explosive conflicts are the uncomfortable scenarios that occur when more open-minded and fun-loving guests pitch their tents nearby.
