Of course you should charge a bit more on ebay.co.uk!

    My problems are:
    the customs
and that I would prefer to pay via PayPal and not share billing informations with Lulu. Anyhow, do you know if Lulu accepts PayPal?

Thanx in advance and congratulatiosn for this excelent series!

Like i say i'm sure lulu dont send it from the US, i'll check when i receive some books in the next few days.

Lulu do accept paypal, i always pay that way on the site.

Should be, i ordered two books (Book 1 and 5 as one of my mates begged me for my original copies !) and they came just over a week later.

Pyjamarama - I got my 2 books today, they were printed in the UK (Postage was 2.99 for 2 books), it said on the invoice any probs to contact their printing place in Essex.

I think they have printing places all over the world, i know someone who ordered a book in the US same time as me got his earlier, so his was sent from the US, mine from England.

There were no custom charges or anything, just local post.

If you order a book on lulu by paypal it should be a decent price postage wise

Book 6 should be winging it's way to me this week sometime, my missus ordered it for me last night while I was at work, since she got an email telling her Lulu had free shipping this week.

Dunno if that's worldwide or USA only though?

.....although I vaguely remember somebody else maybe mentioning it on here?

    Thanx for your answer.
You were right about PayPal ;)

It seems though that the printing site that handles Greece is in the U.S because the postal cost for one book is :
    Shipping and Handling: ?7.01
    which is quite expensive

Haha! Just read the Hammerfist review in Book 4, it's the only review I've found where I get a mention, and the funny thing is I can't stand Hammerfist, never could, thought it was cack.

But I feel compelled to give it another go now just to make sure?

Even though I've already tried to do this a couple of times, I'm sure there must be a good game hidden in there somewhere?

Nothing the rewiew's by Mark Hancock, which is strange as I thought you would've reviewed Hammerfist, since I vaguely remember you saying you thought it was alright a while back? Unless it's a typo on the name?

But anyway the bit says when refering to Beat em' ups "I'm not a massive fan of the genre (where's Boozefreek when you need him?)".

I just thought it was funny, as out of all the violent fighters and smash em' ups out there I like I get a mention on a game I couldn't stand

That was me ;) I'd forgotten all about that review I did (over 12 months ago now!) Thought i would give you a bit of a mention after all the excellent reviews you had been doing on Beat 'em ups.

It was a last minute one that PSJ asked me to do as a favour as i think the deadline for the book had already passed  otherwise like I said in the review I would not have done it as I just cannot get on with the genre.

BTW having just re-read the review, i see that Words auto-correct feature must have been on when I was typing, as it says, "...even the best ones I find dull and the game play respective." That should of course have said "repetitive"

Anyway Boozefreek looking forward to reading all your reviews in the new book, only done about 13 myself in this one. Hoping to get get my copy of book 6 in the post in the next couple of days.

Aye cheers! There's plenty of them this time around ;)

I was really nice to almost every game tbh, even the ones written in BASIC and chose to concentrate on the games merits rather than basically saying "it's written in BASIC therefore it's shite"

Some of the newer machine code games however did not escape boozies poison pen (but I wasn't too harsh I evened the reviews out by also finding the good points of the bad MC games) ;)

I'd have been a lot harsher on some of em' if I had've bought them from a shop when I was younger, then every review would've been edited to death due to every other word being fu.......

Was surprised to come home this evening and find my copy of book 6 waiting for me on the mat, came much quicker than I thought it would. It looks great and I'm looking forward to reading it over the next few days!

My book 6 hasn't came yet, but I've been making them last me after I ploughed through 1 and 2 way too fast, and ended up reading 3 twice, whilst waiting to have the cash spare to buy 4 and 5. :D

Only about 1/3rd of the way through 1990, but I've been reading reviews in between working on Miles Mad Mission and playing House of the Dead 2 on the Wii.

I usually just read a few reviews now when I'm in bed before I turn the lights out, will hopefully have started reading Book 5 by the time 6 arrives, I'm really enjoying Book 4 so far :)

Just got back from a fair few days away, my books here, very happy with it. However i look at the back and theres a few pages called 'You are among friends' by Lindsey Markel just before the final credits page

Has anyone else got this ? I presume its just a printing error, better not be some 'advert' type crap lulu put in the books.

(Spoken to lulu and its a printing error, always the way ! Should be getting a new book sent to me)
  • edited December 2009
    ordered mine today.
  • edited December 2009
Bummer, I missed that 6 was out till just now. I had a free shipping thing from lulu as well that expired 2 days ago...oh well..ordered anyway.

Great work on getting the series complete.
  • edited December 2009
Cheers for ordering. Annoyed mine has a print error but hopefully will get a free replacement. Going to send one to RG to hopefully get a mini review in a future issue.

Got mine today. Lovely. No printing errors as far as I can see, but my Unresident Evil review got credited to Jumping Stack but I think you may have equalled it up by crediting his Super Bomberman review to me! U shud be a referee!

Super Bomberman wasn't one of mine.

My copy is 'in the post'. I will report back when it eventually struggles in on the La Poste wagon.
  • edited December 2009
well it certainly wasn't by me! far too well written lol
  • edited December 2009
If the Super Bomberman review mentions something about a rancid hairy tool on the title screen it's one of mine, in which case PSJ owes me another 50p (and will also have to re-submit the entire book to Lulu just to stop me from sending him tons of RJ style emails)

Oops sorry about that ! Bit of a mishap ! Sorry !

Yeah my printing error was a one-off, i had to take photos of the error and email it to lulu. Should get my new one soon.

A lot of very good reviews and games in Book 6

Wahey! My Book 6 has just arrived :)

Got book 6 yesterday, read the miles mad mission review first.

This one is extra interesting to me because it pretty much covers stuff on the speccy I have no idea about having not explored any of the new games.

Thanks again for this series. Well done on completion and very nice work for the animal home.

Got a couple of new reviews in there, of course Miles Mad Mission, Binman's Trooper and we also put in the latest game from Bob.

Someone bought all 6 books today so good on em !

Glad you like this book, a lot of great work from Boozefreak/Mark Hancock/Michael.F/Graeme.M who did a ton of reviews in this book

Have been enjoying my Book 6 very much over the Xmas period. Has had me reaching for my emulator on more than one occassion to try some new games out. That is A Very Good Thing.

Ere I've just noticed there's a screenshot of Trooper on the front cover (there are some better bits honest), I'd better do some more work on it I was hoping to go for a Christmas release but it's still very much a 'wip'

I'd better order the whole set to ease my guilt
