    If we're talking about selling out then I name the alternative comedians of the 1980s. The all said they'd never do television commercials. And they all have, even Alexie Sayle, with one exception: Ben Elton is still right on.

    That's not to say that Ben Elton has stuck by his counter-culture principles though - it's more that he's been so phenomenally successful at selling out to mainstream culture (in the shape of We Will Rock You and all the other musicals he's churned out based on other people's music) that he doesn't need to do TV commercials...

    The Queen does though - Richard Curtis MBE.
    He has done a lot for famine relief like Rod Cousens CBE - see Crash 20.

    sometimes when you put two people together to bounce things off each other, the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts.
