    I just bought a coin-op machine. So that's gonna bugger things up already, I'm not sure where it's going to go. LOL

    lol!

    Amy'd kill me twice if I brought one of those!

    Where on earth are you going to put it! How can u justify that to the wife?
  • edited June 2004
    What're you going to get first?

    The house extension to keep it in?

    Or the grave you'll be needing when your wife finds out?

    :p
    Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
    I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

    It will fit in, I worked it out.

    I am allowed anything, as long as I fund it msyelf i.e with eBay, and as long as it goes in the games room.

    I shall have to lose the armchair, turn the dining table 90 degrees, and move the PC, then put the arcade machine where the PC is now.

    ...when you're done, please update the pictures of the games room!

    I have to fund my computer stuff myself - I fix computers in my spare time (but with 2 kids and a sexually active fiancee, there isn't a lot of it)

    ...Well, I suppose most of us, although interested in "retro", are still in the sexually active part of their lives! ...Well, quiescent, at least. :)

    I also got a picture of death's head on my other shoulder. Looks a bit like my ex missus! The dragon looks like my mother-in-law.

    Well, my new "JAMMA" arcade cabinet arrvied today.

    Somewhere between crap and okay.

    IT works. :)

    There were no keys. :(

    I had to force the back off, which I did without damage, and then sawed the lock off.

    Coin mechanism wasn't working, but then I found the "test mode" switch, and set it to free play, all the diagnostics are fine, except there is no sound :( probably becuase there is no speaker, not one that I could see anyway, hopefully this can be addressed in the future.

    Problems with keys I expected, and coin slots too, so a bit dissapointing about the sound, but it could have been worse.

    Until I do fix the sound, I can alwasy run Pit Fighter on my Asian Megadrive, which is hooked up to a sub-woofer stereo speaker set.

    I shall post some pictures later.

    Set my megadrive up on a PC table, with it's own tv and set of speakers;

    just got this glass display cabinet salvaged from the local charity shop during a re-fit. Not in brand new condition, quite scratched, cost next to nothing though!

    Glass cabinet looks good THX, I could do with one of those myself!
  • edited July 2004
    Wow THX, I am SO jealous.... I wish I had a spare room that I could do that sort of thing too... I got an old Top of the Pops arcade machine in the lounge that I've gutted and am currently turning into a digital Jukebox, after that I want to make a tabletop mame cabinate.... My troubles room though... I can see in the not too distant future my living room is going to be tuned into a den, with a bar to boot... so it's not all bad ;)

    @THX

    It always amazes me how much stuff you've got :o

    I think it's a good thing that all of us can't come round to your room - you'd need a large bucket and mop to get rid of all the drool :D

    Not married here either, but I've been with Siouxsie for over 5 years, living with her for about 4 of that. And she's right into her Sega, Spectrum and to a certain extent Amiga aswell :D

    I've changed it all around again, after salvaging the top half of a pine dresser from a skip, and getting an office desk from a big clerance job in Milton Keynes.
