Back in the day I had great times with Football Manager 2, many many days and blank tapes spent with that game :)

You can't beat the original Football Manager game. Just great!!

I think Football Manager is the best, as it moves along a little quicker than the sequel.

Concur with the above: the original Football Manager.

...especially with the old refuse to sell, injury, full fitness exploit.

The boss was excellent as is the double , bit more to do than in the also very good football manager.

Football Manager - no competition and there really was NO challenge for the entire lifespan of the Speccy IMHO.

The Double, Football Manager were both great, quite a new game is pretty good also...

No question about it. I still play this today and still swear at my bunch of no-hopers.

I was very excited by Football Manager when it came out in 82, played it to death, but when you play the others like On The Bench, The Double, Football Director, the original Football Manager looks like it came out free with a box of corn flakes. As honest opinions go, may I suggest it is quite possibly the worst manager game when compared to later developments, the game play is on rails, it sounds awful, the graphics are awful.... its very 1982 that's for sure.... maybe I'm missing the point here :(

Your not Dave, Football Manager was good for the time but is far to simplistic now. I'll bet the previous posters probably didn't play that many other Manager games

The Double and it's Sequel Tracksuit Manager are excellent, as are the Director series. there were lots of budget manager games that came out in the late 80's early 90's (check out Cult games) that were easily better that Football Manager, and 1990's Kenny Daglish has excellent Match Highlights

In other Sports(American Football) Head Coach is a great little title.

The best is Football Director and the first Football Manager I think.

I always thought tracksuit manager was streets ahead of anything else.

I also liked On the Bench but it was a bit naff really

    Football Director II
    Football Manager 2
    Manchester United
    Tracksuit Manager

I also found European Superleague quite addictive too, but tough.

There was also another that came in a yellow box and it's name escapes me, but I remember it being addictive...

Let me go and have a search...

This one I seem to think...
