As Miner Willy probably isn't going to give us a puzzle, I'll post the next screen challenge:

That seems to be correct, at least from the top part of the screen:

Ah, I did not know that ET existed on the Spectrum. The ETX name, was that some kind of unofficial conversion to Speccy?

    It really looks awful: Game.

Is there not some legend of the original ET game being so unusual bad so that the company who released it took all remaining unsold copies and buried them in the desert???
  • edited January 2010
Yes, Tujad. The screen shows a computer being assembled.

Yeah i think that was the famous Atari 2600 version, tons of hype and they thought it would sell absolutely tons but it didnt and i think they were left with so many unsold cartridges which as you say they buried in the desert ! There was a write up in RG about it but i think thats the main story.

The Atari 2600 was a great machine back then but had some right doughnuts in ET and of course Pacman

    Alright, this is my screenshot:

(just realised that the 'On the Run' error was corrected several pages back lol - must learn to look before I reply). For what its worth, the giveaway on the error was that the screen didn't have ON THE RUN in big blue letters at the top of the screen

Has anybody got any luck with my screenshot?
This game has never been published on tape, if it helps you.

It looks very good so it should be interesting to find out the name.

I suspect that Moroz gave us a screenshot from a Russian game. That's why he talks about the lack of cassette version

I remember making a rzx recording of a game called Fire Gear once:

    http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekid.cgi?id=0012844

I remember that it had similar animations between levels. Is it this game, Moroz ?

Exactly, this is Fire Gear. There are nice animations between levels but a pretty primitive game mechanics.
A complete game is in russian, though.

This game once convinced me of a great importance of plot-based animations for a player. I would never go through all these levels if I didn't want to see what comes next :)
Even simple, but attractive picture is far better than just "congratulations" text.

Damn, I'm good (in Duke Nukem's voice) :)

So here is my new puzzle:

    Now I am good!

    It is Sex Crime!

I have never played this and it seems to be in portuguese so I had really no idea. But there was some suspicious graphics and I took a look in the archive for adult games and just clicked one or two of the 160 present and almost instantly found it. Luck!

EDIT: Here is the new puzzle:

Well, I must admit I have no idea about what game is this. But there?s a plumber who`s apparently going to visit 4 nude chics in their beds. Is the game based in any porn movie I could have seen???

That's right. It was a fake game from the final issue of Crash. Okay, my go...

    OOOHHHwazzit.jpg

A harsh time-limit, but with practice, very easy to complete.
(And no, that's not a crashed screen!)
