    Don't answer the doorbell!

    I don't have a doorbell.

And the front door has long since gone - I think I killed a rabbit with it.

    I'm behind you!

Tinckle!!! (the sound of my revolver as you start to cringe!)

My name is not Paul and i am not a Frenchman, but sometimes (always) i wish I live in the beutiful town of Cette on the Azure coast. But again that is not because i would like to go on permanent vacation but to relive one of my dreams. And that is to visit Paul Valery`s birthplace, imaginary landscape of my favorite Poet. Well i can tell that poetry goes great with ZX spectrum, especially BEEP type :), but is underrated. I want to bring focus of idealism of human thought to computers, not to the ones of today, but the ones I grew up with and developed my thinking with, and my visions also. It is much more than a concept it is thought in the making.
My name is Milos, and i am from Serbia.

    Hello everybody.

One or two of you may know me from the Retro Gamer forum, but I thought I'd introduce myself here too for the express reason that today the spectrum I bought on Ebay arrived! :-)

    4126841061_7a412ca413_m.jpg

Isn't it beautiful? (Well the box is, you can't see the computer inside, but trust me it is beautiful too!)

It's the first speccy I've owned since the late 80's & I honestly haven't been this excited about a new computer/console since I got my Japanese import MegaDrive back in 1990!

I'm a bit rubbish when it comes to this technology thing so I'll no doubt be asking a billion questions about how to do things before long (Of course I'll be looking up the FAQ's 1st!)

I might be a bit more active now, considering I signed up about 2 and a half years ago! *Embarrassed Smilie*

Welcome to WOS...or back to WOS even....

Enjoy fiddling about with your new old Speccy! I'm just in the process of moving all my speccy roms over to an old PC I picked up, and it's making me want to play them, so I too will be revisiting a few forgotten gems...

    Hello everyone,

my name is Ronny and I am a Spectrum addict.

It started many months ago when I was watching
and old show on the telly - The Life and Loves
    of a She-Devil (1986) - http://tiny.cc/KnKI3

Remebering a scene where a Spectrum 128K was
shown briefly got me thinking of my dear old
Spectrum machine. One thing lead to another -
and here I am today with a collection of four
Spectrum computers, another one on its way, and
plenty of software titles, and some hardware I
only could dream about 20 years ago!

I have since recorded the show, and the scene
with got me started. I'll be posting in the
games sections asking what games are featured
    in the scene.

I'll also post an ad in the wanted section for
    a copy of Martianoids.

Any way, hello everyone from the north of
    Sweden!

Every time I read that the oldest person in the world has died, I have to do a quick check to see it isn't ME..........

Very funny how things like that bring people back to the Speccy. One of my friends was into the Speccy in the 80's but not since. He got some fancy phone and started putting games onto it, finally tried a Speccy emulator and is now addicted again like anything !

Hello! I was a comp.sys.sinclair regular in about 2001-2002 (Lee Prince, if anyone remembers that far back) but drifted away for a while - keep forgetting to post here.

Had a Speccy from 1985 until about 1990, and I still think that Head Over Heels is the best game written on any platform ever. Mind you, I haven't played any new games since about, erm, 1990...

When I'm not running around after my kids I make bootleg/mashup mixes and I'm also planning to do some Speccy musical remakes this year.

    Hi

Just thought I'd say hello to everyone.

I started out writing games on the ZX81 (basic and mc) but moved up to the Spectrum as soon as I could afford it. Mucked about with that for a while and lived the dream (not!) when I got a job as a games programmer. I wrote the Championship Sprint track editor and also Maze Mania before leaving the company for pastures new. I stayed in IT though and got a job as a programmer on IBM AS/400's - and more or less thats what I am still doing now.

    Thats me.

Welcome to the forum, ahhhh great memories, used to mess about tons with the Championship Sprint track editor ! Liked the original but remember reading about the sequel coming out where you could design your own tracks ! Think it worked very well, had a lot of fun with that

    Hello there!

I have just discover this thread so, I will introduce myself :) My name is Rafa and I am a Spectrum enthusiast from Spain.

My parents bought me a +2A in 1990 and, thanks to it, I got deep in the computer world, not only playing but also programming in BASIC. I was 8 years old and I remember copying and modifying the programs that came in the Instruction Book. That were the times :)

Sadly, that +2A "died". Nowadays, I am trying to get one, as I learn from this forum and the Spanish speccy.org how can we keep our Spectrums alive and give them a "second youth".

    Greets! :)
