Local bands thread
heres a sheffield band i know a member of on the local forum
http://www.gogalleon.co.uk/sounds.html
heres my review of a few of the sample tracks i heard on that page
"sounds cool, sounds like well produced indie with a slight crooning twang? and quite emotional?
sound about right?
both albums for a tenner and a pound 5p postage is great too"
he replied
"thats about the size of it Mel, the production was the bit that took most of the work and time, writing the songs was a good laugh and came very easily, surprisingly so in fact, we're out and about gigging, playing Penelope's here in Sheff on the 12th of March, and hopefully we'll be spreading our wings further afield in the next few months."

They have opened for Blaze Bayley recently and in their old line-up/name (Enemymaker888) they opened for Atomic Bitchwax, Black Label Society and did a European arena tour with Venom a few years ago. Bruce Dickinson played them on his rock show a couple of months back and said they are a band to look out for and as they are unsigned at the moment, that wasn't a lable getting him to say that. (The drumer is local to me, so I can call them a local band)
Another local band that is worth mentioning are...

They have been around for a good few years now, but nobody here really seems to understand them (they use a drum machine). A great band and I'd recomend "hitman" and "World of the Strange" on the playlist anyday ;-)

Also he got in an argument with one of the recording guys over the pronunciation of Chimera. He believed it was pronounced "CHIME EAR RA" so on one of their songs you can hear him pronounce it wrong.
